AlonsoXabi Alonso has stated that Real Madrid have NOT made an approach to sign him despite recent rumours.

Reports in Spain suggested the new Real president Fernando Martin made Alonso his number one priority in the summer transfer window.

Alonso has said he has not had any contact and is happy at Anfield.

"To me, they have not officially said anything, I have not heard anything.  I am calm because I know how soccer works, whenever a team does not fulfill expectations they are linked with new players.

I do not want to give too much importance to this because everything is unofficial. I already have experience of this from Real Madrid. I believe that in the end the possibility arose of playing in Liverpool and I took it. I am content with my decision to come here."
