aengalndgerrard England beat Hungary 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Goals from Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Peter Crouch were enough to secure the win for England, who were playing in their second to last game before the world cup starts.

In the first half, England had a few chances, most notable was the penalty miss from Frank Lampard after Gerrard was judged to have been fouled. Lampard had his pen saved, so the game went into half time 0-0.

Within 2 minutes of the restart, Gerrard scored after heading in a cross from David Beckham. Gerrard was playing in a makeshift attacking role, and gave Sven something to think about by rising above the Hungary defence to head into the bottom corner.

4 minutes later, Beckham created another goal, this time crossing from a free kick allowing John Terry to Head past Kiraly.

Hungary got a goal back after a screamer from Dardai, but the introduction of Walcott and Crouch, and the fine performance of Joe Cole on the left was too much for the Hungarians.

Cole got the ball on the left, before bringing it infield taking on 3 players in the process, before passing it to Crouch who had his back to goal, who turned and hit it right into the bottom corner, before performing a robot dance celebration, much to the delight of the crowd.

Theo Walcott became the youngest ever player to pull on an England shirt, aged 17 years and 75 days.

He took his goal really well, his back to goal, what a great finish!

Thought Cole played well, but for Peter to come off the bench and score has hopefully answered a few critics and it will get him a few games in the world cup
