Bellamy signs 4 year deal

Craig Bellamy has today signed a 4 year deal at Liverpool after agreeing personal terms.
Bellamy cut short his holiday to complete the move, and speaking on the club’s official site, he said
" Just to get the transfer completed today was an unbelievable moment for me. I just got married last month and that was obviously one of the highlights of my life but this is on par with that – I know the missus might not be happy with me saying that but it’s true! It’s a dream come true to sign for the club I supported as a boy and to actually play for Liverpool will be an enormous honour. I’m a very proud person at the moment, I just hope I can play a part in this already brilliant football team and hopefully make this great club even more successful.
Being a Liverpool supporter myself, at the start of every season it’s the league title that you’re looking to win. Being top of this league is something that Liverpool grew used to in the 70s and 80s but it hasn’t happened for a while, and that has to change. Even from the outside looking in, you could tell that things were heading in the right direction under Mr Benitez and if we can improve on what we did last year and move two steps on, hopefully we can win the title."
I could never turn Liverpool down. You get the chance to play for Liverpool and it’s a lifelong dream come true. I had a lot of friends at Blackburn – the players, the coaching staff, the chairman are all great people – and I owe them a lot – a hell of a lot to be honest. They helped me improve and they were there at an awkward time for me but I’ve spoken to a lot of the players and they know the situation. I’ve had no problem from any player at Blackburn and I’m sure if any of them got the chance to join the team they love with all their heart, they’d do exactly the same thing. It’s sad in a way to leave Blackburn but this is too good a chance to turn down."
It’s going to take a lot of work, a lot of focus, a lot of discipline – everything – to make it at a club like this. Because I want to be a hit. I don’t want to just be remembered as a Liverpool player, I want to be remembered as a good Liverpool player. That’s my motivation."
Bellamy completed a £6million move and will be officially a Liverpool player on July 1sts.

I think that this world cup has proven that Becks is past it, and he is apparently set to sign a new contract. I think Pennant/Alves/Joaquin or Simao are much more likely to be at the Kop next year.

As for Carragher going – I think Kermit wants you back in the show mate- He is our backbone and selling him would be like selling Gerrard to Everton-keep taking the pills!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder you decided to remain anonymous, you clown. Carragher is the best central defender in the country, all real Liverpool fans know it and, more importantly, Rafa knows it.
Are you insane? Carra is one of the best defenders in the world and you showed your footballing knowledge aint great by calling the guy David Bellamy. Go learn your facts or don’t talk at all…Carra and Terry are the best defenders in England.

i can’t belive that anonymous bloke (who can’t type by the way) even considered that we should sell carragher! he is the rock of our defense and loves liverpool even more the gerrard! he basicaly won us the champions league and is in my opinion a hell of a better defender than ferdinand will ever be. carra is king, and will always be at liverpool fc.

It sounds as though you haven’t heard of Bellamy. His name is Craig Bellamy not David Bellamy!

Keep carra, kewell and crouch, and maybe even kromkamp. Carra still has a good few in him, crouch will be confusing defenders til he retires, kewell could very well get better and we didnt see enough of kromkamp to sell him yet.
joaquin wud be da ideal signing for our right. he has pace and skill and can beat a man. he gets 2 the bi line regularly during games and his quality of crossing is of a good standard. his age is another factor as he will surely only get better. he reminds me of harry kewell on the right only more consistent and more influential. although his goals return isnt great his ability 2 create is undoubted and his work ethic is also very gud. with peter crouch in the box we need an out and out winger for the headers and knock downs crouch will create for fowler and bellamy who thrive of that kind of situation. although joaquin wud command a high transfer fee i believe he has the ability to play in the prem just as the likes of robben and ronaldo can. he is that sort of player but perhaps has a better end product similiar 2 kewell as i have already sed!finally i believe that the signing of a genuine world class right winger would undoubtly complete what i beleive 2 be the best midfield in the world.

i heard that if the 4 teams from the italian league 1 are relegated then the players contracts may go void, which means that they will be able to join other clubs on free transfers. this kind of scenario of wear world class players are free and up for grabs doesn’t happen every day and so i hope we will take advantage of this situation. players will now be joining teams not on how good their contracts are, but primarily on what the football club is like. i hope parry and rafa make liverpool very attractive so that those players will choose LFC over other teams. you never know, buffon and kaka could be liverpool players next season?!
we need to sign a hardrunning play maker in midfield to take the pressure off superman gerrard. i still think that without him playing we don’t have the commitment on the field that of when he is playing. Yes we have carragher the 100 percenter vice captain, but unfortunately he doesn’t have the guts to mix it up when the going gets tough & is definitely not a leader on the park in place of gerrard. We had didi hamann who i think is total quality & i am sad to see him go (all the best)

This is a great signing for us. Hes got pace, strength and most of all finishing, which we lacked from our strikers last year. With Fowler and Crouch we have different options in attack and challenge chelsea!! NOW LETS GET KUYT!!!!!!!!!!

I think that craig is an awesome player…the best part about him is his fight…we need a striker willing to do anything to score…
but as we often see at liverpool, great high scoring strikers never seem to get as many goals when the put on the reds jersey!!!!HOPEFULLY Craig will change that tradition!

rafa is a great manager. surely he can tame bellamy and so bellamy will be a great signing. afterall, bellamy is a capable player as we all have seen.
