Luis Garcia has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Garcia was injured in the 6-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Carling cup, and the club have confirmed he is out for the season after rupturing the Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his right knee.
Liverpool FC Head of Press Ian Cotton confirmed : "Unfortunately we expect to be without Luis for six months."
Liverpool also lost Mark Gonzalez to injury, who is expected to be out for around three weeks.

I hope he does get well soon, some might say he is frustrating , others might say a wonder kid..He still is a lfc player and he scores the odd goal or two when needed .Dont know if there is a player that hasnt had and OFF game or so ..anyway good luck luis and get well soon .
I wish the lad well and hope he makes a speedy recovery. I wounder if this might be the end of him at Liverpool now. At the age of 28 a crutiate ligament injury will be difficult to recover from. Not many players have come back from such an injury and performed well at big clubs. With the exception of Alan Shearer (Debatable as to whether Newcastle are a big club). Although he gave up international football at 29 which played a big part in prolonging his career to the age of 35. At Luis Garcia’s age he may not be given the necessary recovery time, and you can forgive a club for not taking the risk on waiting for him. Its easier to take a chance on a younger player like Mark Gonzalez (22) who has had the same injury. I wouldn’t be surprised if Garcia is sold next January or summer ‘08.
