They say no news is good news; clearly not in this case. Liverpool fans are still left wondering what is happening regarding the sale of the club, despite talk in July that the club was ‘on course’...

Liverpool's top scorer Peter Crouch could return against Arsenal after having surgery on his broken nose.

Crouch suffered the injury against Sheffield United, where he was kicked in the face, and he has been sidelined since due to having surgery on his nose.

Liverpool face Arsenal next weekend, and after the dull 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, All our strikers are needed, and with Crouch being our top scorer, there is a good chance he could be back in action against the Gooners.

Speaking about Crouch , Rafa said “He is able to train with the ball, but we’re keeping him away from any physical contact,”

“I think he should be okay by next week, but we’ll see how quickly the nose heals. We don’t think it will be a big problem.”

The next game against arsenal in my opinion isnt going to be a matter of 3rd and 4th place for me…its going to be a matter of pride .We have lost 3 out of three games to them this season and two of them at anfield ..im just hoping that all our lads come back fit from the damn qualifiers coz we all know england are really crap and they wont win anything …that also pisses me off but my loyalty is to the club first and then ill think about supporting the country…come on lads show them why we are the best club in the epl by beating arsenal and then winning the rest of our games coz looking at the remaining fixtures ..it is very possible.

I have a feeling that with the previous losses and the fact that some lads know come summer they may be moved on, we will give a good performance and put it right!

If we start with Mascherano and pennant that should give us the right balance in midfield in 2 ways … firstly allowing Gerrard to operate in the middle as opposed to the wing and 2nd providing cover for stevie as he moves forward to attack.

I wouldn’t mind seeing arbeloa at left back as he has pace and could keep Rosisky/helb quite leaving Aurellio / risse to get forward and supply!

No offense to crouchie but I’d rather see Fowler and Bellamy start up front together and we should get some joy!

This is a match we can win for sure and give ourselves some breathing space in 4th. But the key for Rafa is not to over complicate things in preparation.

One last point I’ll add is assnal have a player in Diarby and if he starts we may play MOMO in the middle which will then stevie on the right … hope this doesn’t happen but the guy is good!

I saw that report on sky sports news about Crouch coming back early. My god I nearly cried. I also couldn’t believe my ears when Rafa said, “He is able to train with the ball, but we’re keeping him away from any physical contact,”. Why keep him away from physical contact, let Carra mark him in training and fire in some balls at his head and see if he gets out of the way. Because you know what, that Arsenal defence will make sure he gets some physical contact. If he can’t hack it training he’ll be no use in a match. Well, he’ll be no use in a match anyway.

Scouse4life, don’t complain about the England team. On there day they should beat anyone, there must be some bad feeling in the dressing room or a split in the camp. Put yourself in my shoes, I’m Irish. No thats not the bad part. Our win this weekend was reported in the papers today with headlines such as CLUELESS 1 USELESS 0. Irelands star forward is Robbie “I live in a bleedin’ caravan” Keane. I traveled 50 miles to see that game. To see Lee Carsley and some lad called Jonathan Douglas do nothing. Englands biggest worry is, oh no what will we do, Lampard and Gerrard can’t play in the same team. Oh we have Steve “Mr. Motivator” Staunton as manager. Half of the 72,500 crowd at Croke park wanted Wales to win so he’d be sacked, how sad is that.

Sorry for rambling on. A couple of Liverpool players were in that game, Finnan did alright considering he was playing left back. But he never looked comfortable. Bellamy was poor, a couple of nice touches, but in general his movement and workrate was bad. It wasn’t helped by fact that him and Giggs looked like the only footballers in the side.
