Momo Sissoko is hoping that Liverpool draw Valencia , if the Reds beat PSV in the Champions League.

Sissoko signed from Valencia in 2005, and played under Rafa Benitez for Los Ches when Rafa was in charge, and is hoping for a return to the Mestalla Stadium in the next round of the Champions League.

"It is in the back of my mind But we have two difficult games against PSV first.

"It would be good to go back to my old club and play in the Mestalla for Liverpool.

"I still have friends in Spain and Valencia. Some of them came to see me at the hotel in Barcelona for the last round, while others were at the Nou Camp.

"I still speak to my old teammates Roberto Ayala and Santiago Canizares but very rarely about football. We talk mainly about family and their children, things like that."

Sissoko is out of the first leg against PSV through suspension, and he admits it is a massive blow for him not to be involved : "It will be difficult to sit and watch the first game in Holland, I am no different from any player – I want to play every game."

An excellent performance and I think 4-5-1 suits the current squad. I have probably been the loudest critic of Crouch, Aurelio and Penant but they all played well and I hope they continue to prove me wrong. Crouch looked like the multi million striker we paid for, Penant looked more determined and Aurelio had an excellent game at left back. The key for me in the 4-5-1 formation is that Stevie G is free from his wasted role on the right. He then becomes difficult to mark and will have the defence constantly looking over their shoulder. More space for the other forward ? Any perception that 4-5-1 is defensive was killed off on Saturday. Mascherano played very well and looked the “real” holding player we need. Let’s keep it up and don’t tinker with it Benitez. Change the players when necessary but not the system.

ok its only half time and i might be speaking too soon , but what on earth is sissoko doing ..i have counted 10 missed passes from him and in my books i think thats enough…and oh yeah …who is playing on the right ?? cant see anyone there …we all talk about selling players and loaning them out…for the past few games i think sissoko should be loaned out….i keep on hearing that he is going to be the next viera …well screw that ..we need a lad who can pass the ball right..and looking at the game mascherano can do that well…loan the lad out because when its one nil he is always a liability ..he can get booked sent off or give away a penalty …sub him off and bring pennant on!!..
p.s nice goal by arbeloa

Well done to the much criticized crouch and agger for finally scoring for LFC, he played like a world class striker today, actually can’t fault any player today, one or two usually has a crap day even when we win but not today, some more of that for the rest of the season, plus the little bit of luck we had with the woodwork and who knows, we may add Athens to London, Paris, Rome and Istanbul, some fans were expressing jealousy of arsenal back in january, well right now arsenal fans can’t wait for the season to end, but our rafa has other ideas, if he manages to pull off Champs League glory again, i believe the yanks will give him almost anything he asks for, as for ground sharing with everton, it would be like having a lazy, dirty, smelly, ugly little brother come around your house to eat your food, drink your beer, and eye up the wife, keep them out of our stadium and trophy cabinet, they get to visit on derby days, that’s enough reflected glory for the moyes boys.

Great win for the lads today, it was payback time for the Gooners, sorry Mr Wenger your season is over.
Did any one in red put a foot wrong?,
big Crouch was a class above the rest nice to see him get a hat trick, were are all the knockers now? Raffa got it spot on with the team today and the U.S. money men were there to see how good our manager is, with Raffa at the helm, Hicks & Gillett on the board, a new ground, and the best fans in the world the future looks good.
Back to the champions league on Tuesday and PSV, come on you REDS!!!!

I have been crouches strongest critic to date but today he was fucking displaying world class finishing and I gotta say I ways surprised!

His goals were quality and leaves fans saying where has he being in big games?

Pennnat was good today whilst Mascherano was world class and by this display khyut is the odd man out. I’m so happy that Chrouchie score good goals and pennnant was a threat! Rafa needs to get the lads playing like this week in week out!

Every one who knocks Crouch should eat there words!!!!
A class hat trick against a top team,(left foot, right foot, head) how many other strikers this season have scored 1 goal against Arsenal let alone 3????
So come on you Crouch knockers give the lad a bit of praise for once.

I still can’t believe that it was peter crouch who scored the hatrick, yet am gkad for him and the team.
So may be the operation of the nose injury made his head a bit more straight so that he could score more goals…or May be after the operation as rehabilitation to head exersise he finally learned how to head the ball right in the net :D
All we can do and wait to see if more goals will come from mighty crouch, and if goals do come, then i will agree that it would be foolish to offload him, but if not then no use to have a useless player…
So keep improving!!

Its me, Wamee from Brunei..

Wamee.MG11=)

Ok the weekends over back to the champions league,PSV done them once but this is a different matter, last eight and its anybody s game.
What should Rafa do?.
4-4-2, 4-5-1, 5-4-1???
Whos going to play up front???

I think the Key to Crouchie in that sort of form is keeping him hungry by rotating the hell out of him.

The lad wanted to impress, that headed goal was of such quality that he’s done his chances of staying no harm.

For me his third goal was my favorite showing great touch and composure under pressure.

Win aside what was interesting is that we may finally have found our system.

Playing 2 holding in midfield with pace wingers and stevie g just in support of the lone striker was the gel that we need.

No longer was crouchie all alone upfront he had stevie. Wingers had stevie . Holding mid fielders had stevie! He had a quiet game but for the balance of the team every other player now had that extra person to pass to.

When we reverted back to 4-4-2 it became apparent that perhaps that isn’t our strongest formation as the wide men have no real support!!

Good to see any player score a hat-trick. A great win and a good performance to go with it. If the wide men need support in a normal 4-4-2 formation then they mustn’t be strong enough. Its the wingers that should give the full back support, Gonzalez almost always gives his left full back a dig out by helping with tackles, covering space and showing for the ball. Pennant’s workrate is not as good. He’ll show for the ball ok, but is of little or no help to his full back. The 4-5-1 formation is good because you can switch to 2 or 3 up front depending on what way the game is going. This is the way Chelsea and Man U do it in the Prem and they’re the ones still fightin for the title.
