Liverpool are now 5 points clear of Arsenal after beating Reading 2-1 at the Madejski stadium.
Goals from Arbeloa and Kuyt gave the Reds victory, Arbeloa scored in the 15 minute, after a long run upfield, a quick interchange of passing with Crouch played the Spaniard through who lifted the ball over Hahnemann to make it 1-0.
Reading equalised through Gunnarsson after Steve Hunt sent him through on goal on 47 minutes, and at this stage it was anyone's game.
Kuyt was introduced in place of Bellamy, and within a few minutes sent a shot inches wide, then Jermaine Pennant was introduced, who crossed the ball for Kuyt to head home a late winner.
Arsenal lost to West Ham, meaning they are 5 points behind with a game in hand.

Liverpool are NOT 5 points CLEAR – They are 5 points AHEAD. They would be 5 points CLEAR if Arsenal didn’t have a game in hand. Don’t confuse the two.
The amount you are clear of another team is the difference in the number of points dropped by each respective team, not the number of points gained.
You’re obviously a chelsea fan, hence the name. Stop trying to discredit us, just because you know theres a chance you could face us at Anfield if you get past Valencia, then you know you’re going out of europe anyway !
Yes, I’m a Chelsea fan, but I am not trying to “discredit” you. It is a pet peeve of mine, the press does it all the time, and it just shows how ignorant they are. They were busy telling the World that Utd were “12 points clear” just the other week. Utd have NEVER been more than 6 points clear all season. And now they are only three…
Arsenal drew today, so now LFC are 4 points CLEAR. 32 games each. Does that satisfy our pedantic Chelsea friend?
