LFC news aggregators round-up

Over the past 6 months a good few LFC news aggregators have popped up and a few recently had asked for a mention so here’s a quick rundown.
Lfcpost.com Aggregates news, blogs and even podcasts and can be refined by category (transfers, FA cup etc) I like the ‘block’ approach for each source as it allows you to fit more stories on the screen at once. One thing I’d love to see is the blocks draggable Netvibes style as this would allow the users to position their favourite sources nearer the top. LFCPost is aggregating pretty much all of the larger official plus all fan sites.

LFCRss.com is doing things a little differently by including only independent LFC websites and blogs (no big media sources). The site has more of a blog layout but has the all important RSS feed located here (feed appears to be borked at the moment, hopefully a temporary glitch!)

Footy 24/7 isn’t LFC specific but we helped bug test it during the early stages so thought it was worth a mention. Aswell as aggregating News from the mainstream and fansites it also pulls in videos from Youtube, the Liverpool section can be found here

LFCLive is a new service which we received an email about only recently. It focuses solely on providing a feed and is currently aggregating 20+ sources. I quite like the way search parameters can also be passed to the feed like for example Kuyt so you could add several feeds that are more specific.

The Newsnow again isn’t LFC specific but is the oldest and still really popular. On the plus side it’s really stable and it’s dividing of headlines by time makes it really easy to read. On the negative some of the smaller sites might not get a look in and the top stories can often be very speculative
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Walkon.com has also been going for a while and uses a view similar to Newsnow breaking stories down into last 30 minutes, 1 to 2 hours etc. Judging by our referral logs and traffic sent from Walkon it is the second busiest site behind Newsnow.

Very well written and balanced reviews.
Hadn’t heard of Footy 24/7 before so will check that out.
Just a quick mention also that LFC Live will soon a news page similar to LFCPost but with the dragable boxes anfieldred mentioned he would be interested in seeing.
