Now that the season has finished, Liverpool are again being linked with some of Europe's biggest names, who would you like to see sign for the Reds?

Tevez, Eto'o, David Villa, Milito, Daniel Alves: just a few of the names who crop up on a regular basis. What areas do we need to improve and who are the players to help us do that?

here some stats on Eto’o in league.

Starts: 14. Subs app: 2. Goals: 11. Assists: 7

Some people may not like his attitude, but he cant be worse than bellamy. His scoring record is incredible. 11 league goals this season in 14 league starts. If we want to sign a striker It has to be Eto’o, Tevez or Villa.

Being realistic ripping up the current squad and starting again wont bring us any closer to the league title, from a personal point of view i would like to see us keep both Bellamy & Gonzalez.First of all Gonzalez was never going to be a massive hit in his first season especially as a bit part player,so if any player needed time to settle it was always going to be him,as for bellamy for me he would of been better used as a right winger, which as everyone knows is where he as always played his best football.
Players i think we should be showing the door to would be the obvious in Zenden ,Fowler,Dudek and Hyppia also i think its time to move on Crouch,Riise and Kuyt.

As for new arrivals David Villa and Fernando Torres for the strikers, either Jesus Navas or Nani for the right wing, Either Pablo or Milito for centre back,
Lahm in at left back and Daniel Alves at right back.
I would also love to see a Deco type of player come in, Maybe Diego at werder bremen or Riquelme at boca juniors, even one of Benitez previous players in Pablo Aimar would be ideal.
Of course this lot would cost probably in the region of £100 million, But at least then we would have a side that would challenge for both the premiership and champions league

Agree with you that ripping up our current squad won’t bring immediate success, but find it kind of contradictionary that you then go on about whom you’d like to see in and out, virtually ripping up our current squad.
It will be difficult to implement three or more first-teamers at a time, so we should rather keep Crouch and Kuyt, add a striker who actually scores goals and two wingers.
Signing another left-back would see either Riise or Aurelio surplus to requirements and I seriously doubt that B.Munich would like to sell Lahm.
I would like to see a real playmaker too, but as those play central where does that leave Stevie Gerrard?

I cant see more than about 4/5 players coming in if Rafa gets everyone he wants.

We could do with another central defender, to be cover for Hyypia/Agger, A proper left winger, as apart from Kewell we dont have anyone there, (Riise and Aurelio have been left back more often than not)

A striker, but in place of who? Crouch has been our top scorer, but Benitez favoured Kuyt in the CL final, there’s no way of knowing who is staying or going.

Arbeloa provides good cover in defence, but i think we need someone like Alves who can play right back or right mid if needed.

Correct me if wrong.
- Eto played under Benitez at Real Madrid’s reserve team.
- Benitez tried to sign Eto for Valencia, swapping Roberto Ayala for Eto which was blocked by Valencia Board. Referred to in Benitez’s biograph 2 years ago.
- Who’s to say he wont go for Eto again.
I Live in hope.

There have been recent reports about the demise of Liverpool Football club.
Much to the gloating of one Sir Alex Ferguson he of the , I’ve been at Manchester United for 20 years and only ever reached on Champions League final once while I sip wine if they lose brigade, or the perennial bridesmaid of Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Albeit that I have a certain amount of respect for Arsenals style and achievements on meeger funds.

I read in the press this morning of some of the inner workings of the Benetiz and Anfield machine, which frankly has left me shocked at the ineptitude of the Chief Executive and the paralysis that seems to surround him.

In the Sunday Time there is a detailed report which appears to be quoting Benetiz and the details are far to detailed for it to be, shall we say creative journalism.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sp...

The premise of the article lays out Benetiz frustration at the not the lack of fund but the lack of speed or progress in his targeted players.
He seems to clearly lay the blame at Rick Parry whom has done a good job in fact hiring Benetiz but not in hiring the players that Benetiz wants.

It came as a Major surprise to learn that Vidic whom is now at Manchester United was in fact targeted by Benetiz long before United had heard of him.
Only to be beaten not because of lack of funds, but lack of effort and general incompetence, Benetiz lays the blame at Rick Parry’s door albeit indirectly.

It’s clear that Benetiz doesn’t trust Rick Parry nor does he have confidence in his ability to get him players which we all know he wants, as quickly as possible so that we don’t have the usual last minute scramble for frankly second string/rate players.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time for Rick Parry to go, it’s clear the Players Back Benetiz as do the new owners, the only person whom seems to be holding up the well oiled and anxious machine for hiring players appears to be Rick Parry.

No-one should forget the previous occasion when Mr Parry was on holiday attempting to conduct business and had to come back.

I read again the Hicks and Gillett are in the USA meanwhile Rafa is having to conduct conference calls with Parry, Gillett and Hicks to sort out the purchase of players.
UNACCEPTABLE.

In this new era for Liverpool and with the admission that the previous owners couldn’t take the club forward the time for Rick Parry to move aside or leave is here.

Let’s have a CEO that can match the ambitions of the Manager,Players,Owners and most importantly the fans.

in my opinion, the best striker for liverpool is actually david villa. he is a soccer maestro. other options could be eto or torres. these players are experienced enough. but wad happens to the current liverpool strikers?
