Liverpool, Aston Villa agree to £2.5m fee for Luk

A lack of depth at the full-back position apparently forced Roy Hodgson’s hand today, as the manager agreed to a £2.5m with Aston Villa for full-back Luke Young. Whilst Young isn’t the most...

Moores resigns from Board of Directors post

There’s not much to say at the moment other than that David Moores has stepped down from his spot on Liverpool’s board of directors. The former Liverpool chairman’s resignation comes on the heels of a push by MPs to have the government pull the plug for good on Tom Hicks and George Gillett’s £350m loan by taking full advantage of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s part-nationalisation.

There’s not much more that can be said here that hasn’t been said before. Moores will always be known for selling the club to Hick and Gillett — a move that he has admitted was a “heartbroken and let down” with the way both men went about trying to strangle the club.

The best thing to do is just wait and see if anything else comes from this story. I’m guessing it’ll be nothing more than a blip on the radar by Monday…

Nice post, keep up the good work:?

Just remember it is all his fault, we had other owners in the bag with a lot more of their own funds of their own ready to move our club forward.
Moores made the decision and wrecked our club. Don’t be suprised if we become the next Leeds as we struggle to match the money clubs.

After Rick Parry and now David Moores leaving, doesn’t this tell us something is wrong at Board level. It really isn’t right that owners should buy the club and then put all debts into the clubs name. Doesn’t that send out a terrble message? If the owners are as wealthy as we were led to believe, when the takeover happened, why has there been such a lack of investment in new players compared to other clubs? Dare I suggest the purchase of Fernando Torres, although great, was a goodwill gesture by the owners to win favour? I would also suggest the overpriced purchase of Robbie Keane was the same, although that purchase had less success.
The new stadium also seems to be on hold. You cannot blame the financial crisis for a lack of investment because that clearly shows the investment was borrowed money. What the club needs is new ownership with real money, not borrowed money. I for one feel I am being taken for a mug by two people who talk alot, say very little and deliver even less.
I say to Mr Hicks and Mr Gillet “Put your money on the table or move on!” Not borrowed money. Your money. The money you said you had to invest in the club. If you don’t have the money then do the decent thing, show some decency and honesty and step aside. This club is greater than the sum of you both and deserves a better future than you both seem to be offering it.

simple,…f–k off u yankee c–ts…

what happens when you trust a yank? disaster, disaster,…etc. Force them to sell up before they sink L.F.C. they are using our club to pass on debts of theirs.

I am not so sure Parry& Moores leaving is actually bad infact I am quite happy with it!
Who has caused more damage to LFC, David Moores & Rick Parry or the Yanks?
Whilst the Yanks have done us no favours I beleive we are still suffering from the David Moores legacy of negligance through incompetence & his lasseiz faire attitude when football was in revoultion. Moores should have sold up sooner, he never invested enough of his own money in the club & then he carried on for too long when smaller lesser clubs were beginning to outmuscle us finacially. When he did sell, he sold to wrong crowd & in the wrong manner. His treatment of DIC proves he is not the greatest buisnessman in the world.
I have issues with the fact that he stays on as a Lifetime president despite making money out of selling the club after draggin the club through a really poor spell, i think everyone knowws we should have kicked on in the erlay 90’s but Moores did not allow this to happen.

you no nothink. moores spent, over 100mil with houiller, what did he get back? the players hou bought were worth nothink. most went for that, that was his money. one reason for him to sell .as for being a bussiness man no he was not that was parry,s job, thats what he got paid for.moores was, and is a fan 1st. PARRY F…ED UP WITH THE YANKS, he was the man who outed dic, and bought in the yanks. yes moores made a mistake with parry, because he trusted him to do right with the club. that was a mistake but he was a great chairman one i wish we had now, donot compare him to the yanks your a insult to many liverpool fans. before you critise get your facts right..

I agree moores has sailed us all down the river, but, let us not forget the very active role rick parry played! He knew if DIC had come in there wouldn’t of been a position for him! He persuaded moores to go with the yanks to save his own very lucrative & very powerful position! Thank god rafa won the power struggle! for 2 people who are supposed to have our club in there hearts they have ripped our hearts out & have taken there nice wedge of a payout & strolled into the sunset! It is not going to be easy to get the yanks out, especially Hicks who is digging his heels in cause he smells money, but, we all must stick together & make our feelings know! Oh how i wish Shanks & Bob were still here with us!!!!
Somehow i dont think they would of let this happen!
Keep the faith my brothers….Remember…
WE ARE LIVERPOOL!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel that’s good Moores has resigned. It is the good decision that will not affect any of the parties. Though its a late decision, i welcome his move.

Hi. We need to fight to the end. You should seek a way as to maintain the club. Method always have to look good. Good luck!
