I’m extremely frustrated and very bitter at the moment, so I apologise if I keep this short. To review: Liverpool lost the match; Benitez brought on Voronin for our best player of the night (Benayoun); the zonal-marking was a joke; Gerrard went off with another injury inside the first 20 minutes. Did I mention we lost in the 90th minute?
Do I really need to continue?
This was our fourth defeat in a row, marking our worst stretch in 22 years. It’s official: we need to sound the alarms. There’s something really wrong with our club. The players were doing fuck all on the pitch, and the manager looked as clueless as ever.

At last russel its pissing u off as well rafa been doing that 4 the past year he looked as CLUELESS as ever on the touchline tonight you have to agree now he has to go and that is it no more excuses he hasnt got a fcuking clue! he proved it by taking our best player (benayoun) off and replacing him with that no good 4 nothing piece of long haired shit voronin the buck has 2 stop here and now he is the wrong man 4 the job and the sooner the others on here realise this the better! im sick of his stubborness and boneidleness and stupid team selections he just doesnt have a clue what he’s doing he’s like a lollypop man on the touchline with out the lollypop all he does is wave his hands around with sign language how the fcuk is that suppose to motivate ur players giving them hand signals all the pissing time! all things aside now guys he’s out stayed his welcome the sooner he goes the better where do we go from here then guys? there is no way rafa the right man 4 us NO WAY IN HELL! And as far as i know you want KING KENNY to take the job should they get rid of RAFA. How would you react if KENNY failed in the job, would you be slagging him off as much as you have RAFA? No you wouldnt so give the fella a break and climb back in your box. Losig ALONSO was the worst thing to happen to the club in a long time, the fella is irreplaceable. I dislike half the squad as much as you do but, this is what RAFA has got to work with so let him get on with it and shut up moaning!!!!

That’s true, LEIVAMEOUT but who’s fault is it that we have that squad that Rafa ‘has got to work with’? Almost all of the players have come in during his reign AND he would have ditched Alonso a year earlier given the chance.
We all know Rafa woluld have liked more funds for big signings but even so, we should have pretty strong squad by now.
For me, the one encouraging thing about Rafa’s time at the club has been his investment in youth and bringing in youngster from all over the world to our academy. With our squad looking thread-bare, though, it’s time he started bringing them through.
I’VE BEEN READING A LOT OF LIVERPOOL FORUMS ETC FOR QUITE A LONG TIME NOW BUT HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO POST. BUT AFTER TONIGHTS GAME I FEEL COMPELLED TO SPEAK. ALTHOUGHT ALONG WITH MOST PEOPLE I AGREE THAT THE SITUATION WITH THE LACK OF FUNDS AND THE TOTAL MESS THE BOARD ROOM IS IN DOESNT HELP .I CANT HELP BUT FEEL LIKE I DID TOWARDS THE END OF THE OF OUR LAST MANAGERS REIGN. I’M NOT A BELEIVER IN SACKING MANAGERS AT ALL (AFTER ALL WHO WOULD WANT TO WORK FOR THOSE TWO COWBOYS) BECAUSE IT WOULD LEAVE US IN A MUCH BIGGER HOLE THAN WE ALREADY ARE, BUT HONESTLY WHAT IS GOING ON!! TAKING OFF BENNY TONIGHT FOR VORONIN WAS ONE OF THE WORST DESICIONS I THINK BENITEZ HAS EVER MADE.
Those who are as sturbbon as Rafa will accept the reality when we are relegated. Come on lets face it how are we better that Portsmouth at the moment. I told you before that rafa has started to support man U. Even the worst manager couldn’t do what he did. Let him go back to where ever he came from. If Spurs had not chased away their manager last season may be they wouldn’t be in the EPL today.I think Rafa has had enough of LFC and is just shiting on Us. we were playing well well until he interfered. Agger was the man we had been missing at the back! he was really good last night.But RB made sure we loose the game. he did every thing within his power to achieve it!! Rafa has really punished us the fans but why??? I don’t understand!! Our team is better in the hands of the Ass. manager i wish Rafa goes on injury. And when is Aquillani coming the October they promised us is almost ending! Let me hope that Rafa isn’t denying him a place in favor of Lucas.
I’m as pissed off as anyone but let’s start with a positive. Finally, Rafa gave one of our young ’starlets’ a chance. Well done to Kelly for putting in what I thought was an excellent performance for his first senior game. I rate Johnson highly, Degen showed against Leeds (ok so it was only Leeds) that he has potential to be useful when fit, Darby is one of the best young players in the country and now Kelly has shown his worth. We certainly have no worries about cover in the right-back position. I just hope his injury is nothing severe.
The other positives are that I think Mascherano, Agger, Reina and Aurelio all played pretty well and Beneyoun was excellent.
And so to the negatives:
- Lucas. He didn’t do anything wrong because he didn’t really do anything at all. We’re playing one of Europe’s top teams and carrying a man in midfield.
- Insua. I like the lad and I’m glad that he’s been getting a run of games but he’s not quite there yet and Aurelio would have been a better choice from the start. Looked exposed for pace even before getting a knock.
- Rafa!
I have no problem with him picking Ngog. I’ve said before that he is a good finisher and he did well to get his shot away when the ball was pinging around the box and he nearly scored with his head. What I can’t agree with is putting him up front on his own, he’s not the type of forward to play with his back to goal.
As I’ve already said, Aurelio had a good game but when Gerrard went off injured, I can’t understand why Aurelio was picked when Spearing and Babel were on the bench. Spearing would be a direct replacement and Babel could have gone up front or on the right, with Kuyt moving into the middle to help Ngog. I think 90% of managers would have done similar.
Why take off Beneyoun?? He was by far our best player and the most likely to unlock Lyon. My LCD almost fell foul of a flying remote at that point.
Voronin on the bench ahead of Pacheco. I’ll say no more.
I’ve backed Rafa for long enough but as Klinsman said last night, you can’t blame injuries and lack of squad depth when you’ve been the manager of a team for that long and signed so many players. If you’re back-up players are not good enough, who is to blame?
J.B we both agree then that rafa has got to go a.s.a.p he has had 5 yrs to build a side and he hasnt done it he cant whinge with lack of funds when its him that has signed 67 players and all or most of them have been duds he hasnt got an eye 4 talent apart from torres and masch every player has proved to be crap the worst is lucas! he has done well to last 5 yrs at such a top club,edwardo there would be loads of managers that would love to manage us if and when rafa fcuks off the sooner the better! id also like to know JB when is aquilani gonna make his debut as rafa said in oct but its nearly over i cant wait 4 the day rafa fcuks off im so pee’d off being a liverpool fan at the moment when will it end!
It can no longer be a question of will he go but when – what a lift it would be for the Club if it happened before the weekend and Kenny was temporarily in charge against Taggart Face. Sadly with no one running the Club at the top it seems unlikely.
One positive from last night – Kelly looks far more assured at right back than Bentitezs’ choice – a quick fire sale on Johnson and we have the redundancy money for the man who is heaping shame and embarrasment on our club. This has been on the cards for four years with no improvement anywhere other than Torres.
Guthrie, Warnock, Spearing, Kelly, Hobbs should have all be regular squad players by now – Dossena, Degen, Voronin, Lucas, Babel, Kronkamp, Gonzalez, Bellamy, Pennant, Nunez – it’s bloody unbelievable. With grateful thanks to the “In Rafa We Trust Brigade” we now have a mountain to climb all over again – if Hicks and Gillet were to have any comitment to the club they should break the bank for Mourinho alongside Kenny and John Aldridge.
Whatever the plans – this clown has to go now.

The yanks aint gona pay rafa 20 million quid in compo so we will have to put up with him for the foreseable future, if the SCUM and ARSENAL beat us over the next 2 games hopefully rafa will do the right thing and walk. i’m as pissed of as you are at the moment….

According to teletext on bbc there is a protest planned at anfield on sunday to protest against gillett and hicks ownership of the club,the spirit of shankly group is hoping that thousands of fans will turn out of the match against the mancs about bloody time if u ask me there should be protests at every home game to get those 2 clowns out!
Hanging out dirty washing in front of the Mancs should be a non starter.
The siuation with Hicks and Gillett will be resolved when someone offers them the money they crave – sick but that is the way it is.

hi kev, yes been to spain weather there HOT….. unlike are team. yes ive said it before rafa has bought crap, but they have been mostly his 3rd choices. i remember one reporter asked him about babel, his answer? was not my first choice. robbie keane? he wanted barry. there are others too but i see were you and otley red are comming from he bought that greek defender, and look kelly is better than him. nogog needs more games as a sub, to learn but voronin, kuyt and babel should all go. lucas either goes back to the reserves to learn or leaves, he is young and can learn kuyt is,t either is voronin. babel is fed up and a move might shake him up, we need more finesse in the team in jan we need to out some players, and bring in a few . as for kenny remember celtic? he is a legend there too, yet when he went back to manage them they slaughted him. we all do things in anger and thats my fear for kenny, he has been away from liverpool now for nearly 2 decades(as a mamager) would he want the stress? sunday,s game is a big one even if torres is fit he usally takes a game or two to get going, we will have to be at are best which we have not been all season i hope to see a better performance than the one v lyon. i hope the yanks are gone soon ,but there is alot of debt with the club due to them, plus there asking for stupid money. i hope by jan they have both left, untill then we will all live under a cloud…..
