Liverpool, Aston Villa agree to £2.5m fee for Luk

A lack of depth at the full-back position apparently forced Roy Hodgson’s hand today, as the manager agreed to a £2.5m with Aston Villa for full-back Luke Young. Whilst Young isn’t the most...

Video proof that Gillett DID say “the spade has to be in the ground within 60 days”

George Gillett has come out recently denying that he said the new stadium work would start within 60 days of them completing the takeover LFC; but here is a video of the first press conference where he says “the first spade has to be in the ground within 60 days.”

This video was taken by the Liverpool Daily Post:

Here is George Gillett’s most recent comment about the stadium where he denies saying what is captured on video above: “Whether you see the value is a different issue. Where have we lied? Where’s the lie, for Christ’s sake? In those 60 days, what happened to the world? I didn’t say that. Hicks was the one who said. 60 days? Bulls**t. That was not me. It’s wrong. I have never talked about that.

“I think that what happened was that Hicks was convinced we were going to start to move dirt on the foundations within a 60-day period. In the period of time, the world credit market collapsed and he had big egg on his face, not living up to what we said. I don’t talk about absolute dates when we’re talking about credit markets”

Looks like more protests like this are needed:

Rafa!, You nailed it bud. Check Taggart’s first 5 years against Rafa’s and Taggart is miles behind, look at Alonso (£30m), Torres (£70m), Reina (£25m), Rafa has found some seriously valuable player’s for us. Don’t forget the European Super Cup (CSKA Moscow) as well, The media can’t stand Rafa at all because he won’t kiss their arse’s. We will get stronger as we go on now so let’s see were we end up at Xmas….

This dark cloud hovering on top of our club will vanish only when these two fuckers leave us for good… All our support to Rafa and the lads

Liverpool FC… You’ll Never Walk Alone

About two or three matches and then the Rednecks will leave the club. Thats the only way. RAFA YNWA

Well done lads the bastard has been caught red handed, time for more action or we will never get rid of them. If we wait the club will suffer and we will lose Rafa.

Get the fuck out of our club! you lying bastards! Why don’t you just sell and buy a Rodeo Circus instead. It would suit you much better. Just sell. I hate you, we all hate you. Get out!

I hate these F*CKING YANKS… Full of lies, just sell the club and stop making the club suffer…

Well I don’t even feel like commenting on what Gillett is now denying. If he is seriously denying what he said then not only are these guys not credible, they are outright clowns.
Saying that things did not go according to plan is one thing, these things do happen, but saying you never said something when you said it in a press conference is outright suicide, unless he suffers from Alzheimer!!
I now have the impression the stadium will be built….the Saudi Prince will build it. Wait and see!

I agree they will get the stadium built with the Saudi dough and naming rights. This is why they take the stick from us, they know it is a cash bonanza!, we are snookered big-time. Now the commercial deals are rolling in they will never sell.

Tgan agreed! The only thing is the WILL sell, but only when they know they will make a bucketload from it. However, I would add that if the Club goes from strenght to strenght financially, as it now seems to be the trend, then they will never sell. Remember that Gillett had the biggest sporting franchise in North America and only sold because he got ’stuck’ elsewhere. They both believe there is money in sport and that is their hunting ground.
After all what we do need are a new 75,000 thousand seat stadium (not 60,000) and at least Stg 30 million to spend each summer (plus money generated from sale or players).

I see that we may have aquilani back 4 the sunderland game i dunno how much truth there is in this im goin by sky sports news here but lets be honest guys we need someone like him to go straight in to the side to give the team a lift and a new player in the team may just do that and to oust that useless bastard lucas from the starting 11 playing 4 us again!

I don’t know if it will be against Sunderland, possibly not, but it seems the lad will be playing for us this month.
I presume that in a straight swap Aquilani will be taking Lucas’ place in the starting line up, but don’t be so sure about it…Rafa has become more inpredictable than rational. However, that seems to be the best option.

Never mind Alberto, Agger will be massive carrying the ball up the pitch and his passing and shooting ability. Don’t worry we will improve dramatically with these two players back.

I cannot understand why people keep blaming Benitez when things go a bit wrong. ]

During his five years at the Club, Liverpool have won the Champions League, reached the Champions League final a second time; won the FA Cup; reached the final of the Carling Cup; finished runners-up to Manchester United last season; have qualified for the Champions league in each season, once as holders of the Cup; and built an almost complete new team from the one which he inherited.

I don’t think there are any managers with a better record, except for Ferguson and Wenger. And don’t forget that Ferguson had a disastrous first four seasons.

So please get off Benitez’ back.
