Monday night football returns to Anfield, as Liverpool and Birmingham City prepare to do battle in the Premier League. There’s a lot at stake in this match — especially after both Aston Villa and Tottenham won over the weekend.
A win would pull the club within a point of the fourth spot in the league, and I think we’re all in agreement that getting back into the top four should be top priority right now. There’s not much we can do about the Champions League, as we need a result from Lyon to keep our hopes alive. Regardless of the Champions League dilemma, we do control our own destiny when it comes to the league. And no matter which way you look at it, we’ve got to get three points tonight.

What a LOAD OF SHIT!!! i dont care what anyone says RB has to fcuking go! what the fcuk was that 2nite how the FUCK lucas and kuyt get the nod is beyond belief and AS USUAL RB gave aquilani 8 mins in a game we needed to win! how the hell does he expect anyone to make an impact! rafa really,really hasnt got a fcuking clue what he is doing OMG! someone said on here b4 that they reckon rafa is making us lose on purpose dunno who it was but im beggining to think the same what manager keeps playing USELESS PLAYERS! i cant wait to hear the RB arse lickers come on here and say give him a break he’s still the right man 4 us well blah,blah,blah i dont care what they say how the hell can they stick up 4 rafa i really dont know!!! we wont make europa league this year RAFA OUT! RAFA OUT! RAFA OUT! RAFA OUT! we are in shit street FACT……. cant even beat birmingham! what a joke we really are who else still thinks rafa is the right man 4 us?!? otleyred what the fcuk is happening with our club man is it just us that thinks rafa is a total LOSER!!! come on kev, we outplayed them , we should hve won by 5. they had 2 shots and scored. we had no luck , you can,t blame rafa for that, look at the stats 27 shots t0 4 i agree with lucas, and kuyt, as i don,t rate them either. but at least voronin was,t playing. and ngog is better than voronin, he still has a lot to learn but give him time. and the yanks want martin oneal who i cannot stand. if we get a new manager then let it be gus hiddiink. not mourino or oneal. on a diffrent night we would have scored 5, somtimes when its going agaist you luck passes you buy, tonight we played them of the park , but the luck was not there. we need villa in jan and another playmaker. because were losing players in everygame. benny, and riera look like they might be out for a few weeks. if they played shite fair enough, they did,t thoe birmigham were lucky….
Rouman I usually agree with you and I know we each respect views on here but the fact is that for all those 27 chances we had, we scored twice and Brum two from 4. Anyway we shouldn’t even be talking about stats, Brum should NOT ever be a threat or stumbling block to sides like us, mancs, chelski etc. We lately almost always seem to have problems with teams like Brum (OK I know we put 6 past Hull) but we f..k around instead of going full tilt at them and taking the game to them. As I’ve said on here about four times in the past week, teams are just not frightened or worried about us any more.
I respect you rouman but last light was the final straw we shouldn’t have to be relying on draws against lowly birmingham i know we had chances and it goes to show our squad is no where near good enough of the others kuyt is so average when torres isnt playing is first touch and crossing and everything else is utter,utter disastorous the same can be said 4 lucas dont get me started on him im dumbstruck as to how RB thinks that aquilani can turn a game in 8 mins! we badly wanted a win last night we have another tough game in man city next maybe RB will play voronin after giving him a rest! enough is enough now,ive lost all respect 4 RB now i dont care what he manages to achieve he is a total loser all i want is him out who has also noticed since he’s grown his stupid looking goatee we haven’t won a trophy! just a thought! he is an average manager at a club thats to big 4 him do the right thing yanks and get rid of him i dunno about u rouman but id rather martin o’neil in charge than rafa WITHOUT QUESTION anyone but benitez right now we just need a new man with new idea’s that can motivate the players pick the right side not play them out of position (unlike riera left footed playing on the right lastnight) u cant help but laugh can you? dont make late subs! and jump up and cheer or what ever when we score rafa has to be the most miserable manager around he has never ever done it and it would be good to see.

Im at a loss to explain how we didnt beat birmingham on mon night-but is confident they have the right mentality to turn there season around!
The reason we didnt win lucas was because of players like u and kuyt u USELESS PIECE OF BRAZILIAN DOG SHYT! if he scored goals instead of shooting his mouth off we wouldn’t be having this debate!!!!!! id love to punch him in the face he winds me up something chronic i tell ya!!!
Kev J it was me that said Rafa does his mistakes on purpose although i had no evidence to support the statement but sincerely the RB of today is not the guy i used to know and praise some time back. he has made me eat my own words.
On the game we were in control until the zonal marking did us well with that free kick (who to blame) your guess is as good as mine.
Secondly we have struggled all through just because of Poor midfield. our play was centered on a Midfield of Alonso Mascherano and SG .
with the coming of Lucas into the equation the following happened.
1. we lost our best asset i.e our central midfield so it was time to shift our attack through the wings instead we opted for Lucas.
2. With Lucas our defense is very exposed because Mascherano has to carry the ball froward him self otherwise the ball never leaves our own half because Lucas will keep giving him back Passes.
3. Our attackers are starved due to poor supply from midfield as a matter of fact so far may i know statistics for Lucas assists. Hence its only World class Strikers like Torres that can manage to score from such poor supply but not Kuyt and Ngong
5. We lost our trade mark of penetrative counter attacks
6. With Lucas Playing every body has been forced to perform below their standards fight away from the back line up to the striking line. His number is so sensitive that having a shit person in it can make the whole team look very very bad. Believe it or not it has been 10 men against 11 since the season begun any any 10 men team will always struggle!
4. We lost Hypia and now its only Torres that can score a header so all dead ball are indeed dead for us.
5. Over all results is more Possession, more shorts on target but the best we can get is a draw because of very few clever passes.
Either we get Aquallani into the equation or we get wingers but with Lucas in Alonso’s position Kuyt on the right wing we are doomed.
BTW Any Gossip about Rafa’s Sacking!! i think he has more than proved that he needs another challenge but not with Lfc. A combination of Him, the yanks ,our current team, our financial status and our usual bad Luck smells disaster.
It is turning into a nightmare and reality needs to be faced head on – this squad will not make a top 4 position with RB at the helm.
We could and should have won by 5 or 6 but we didn’t – we got a point by conning the ref – Ngog should have it spelt out to him that we do not condone that shit here.
We cannot take the risk of missing out on CL football – RB has to go. Tactics, motivation and the respect of the players are at an all time low – the buck stops with the manager. Give him money to spend in January and he may bring in more Kuyts, Voronins and Lucas type players. Another risk we cannot afford.
It is going to be a mountain from here but we need to be ready for the scrap – Kenny has to take over until the summer. ( with John Aldridge supporting )
Who comes in then is likely to depend on all the other issues – where we end up, CL or no CL, Yanks or whoever else that comes in but you cannot resolve every issue at once. The first headache is the manager which needs solving now. Sorry but that’s the way it is – let’s get it over with and move on.

The £20 million will have to be found – the ongoing consequences are too dire to consider – it has to be sorted – the Yanks will find the money to protect their investment.
Not matter how good he is going forward a fire sale on Glenn Johnson will raise the money – we have plenty of options for right back.

Is he having a laugh? I think the best statements are those made on the pitch not after drawing to a crap side like birmingham. The sooner he faces facts that the team is rubbish without two players.
He can not blame this on injuries. He should blame it on his poor man managment skills and lack of ability in the transfer market that has left our team with only two star players.

Hi Julie. If Benitez goes I doubt that it will be voluntarily. If he goes whoever we get in will need some asurance from the Americans that there will be money for top class, not effing average, players who draw huge wages at Anfield each week. Our club is full of them. Useless at the top level. If Benitez leaves, like Rouman I would favour Hiddink. But if we can’t afford him, as very much a long shot I would ask Phil Thomson. Kenny won’t do it. The stress got to him and he isn’t going to put himself through that again. Thomson is as pasionate about Anfield as anyone. He did a good job as Houlliers stand-in. I mention his name only as an outsider if we have a new manager but if we want someone to shed blood for us Thommo would be the man. I can’t believe that I and the rest of us are writing all this stuff after what promised for us to be The Season!!! Nothing could be further from the truth. And whilst, as I always say I will die supporting LFC, I really fear we haven’t seen the worst of the season yet. We are f…ed in Europe despite all these riduculous comments from RB and players that it aint all over. We are unable to put away mediocre opposition, WE ARE IN A MESS!!!!! hello george, yes i think everyone has a right to pissed off about rafa. but i stand by what i have said before, now is,t the time to sack him. if he has not got us at least 4th then i think he should go. because even thoe we have had a lot of injuries, the players he has used kuyt, voronin, babel, lucas. have been his buys and everyone of them is poor. i still have faith because when he has spent big he has done ok, torres, riena, johnson, mash. all should i say WHEN HE GETS HIS FIRST CHOICE OF PLAYER HE DOES WELL, keane, and babel were not his first choices, he has made poor choices in the lower end i agree, but that end will allways be a gamble. look at fergie nani, 19mil crap anderson 17mil? hargreaves20mil. none of them are any good are they? yet he still gets the money he wants to buy , who he wants. everyone knows rafa wanted silva, villa, and even barry, but we have not got the money, well the yanks have,t i said last season we needed a top striker. and a wideplayer, we still do, plus a creative midfield player my choice senna . and while the yanks are in charge we will only get a yes man, remeber they wanted klinsman? he lost his job because he is crap. i will wait till the end of the season , even thoe it feels like the end now i still think we will finish in the top 4. i know its not good enough but from the postion were in now its are best chance.. allright kev i know your mad at the moment and i respect your views too and on many of them your right but hang on in there. hi julie nice to have you back…

Yes Julie couldn’t agree more about the corners. Why Gerrard takes so many is beyond me. He should be in the box ready to pounce on anything loose, get in a volley, header etc, etc. At least if the ball went to him we would have someone who we would have high hopes of hitting the onion bag – unlike the rest (Torres excepted) who are just as likely to put in Row 54, fluff it, spoon it or any other way they contrive not to score.
It is a huge gamble on the clubs future to believe, hope or pray that RB will secure a top four place.
Poor results against Man City, Everton and Arsenal we could no longer believe, hope or pray.
