Rafa Benitez has named his starting 11 to face Man City at Anfield today, with Glen Johnson not making the bench. There is however; a rare start for Ryan Babel.
The team in full is : Reina, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Babel, Ngog. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, El Zhar, Aurelio, Riera, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos.

I’ll hang around on here Kev but everyone can understand your feelings. Instead of a good season, this has become a nightmare. What the board or benitez will do is anyone’s guess – it should be a lot clearer after Tuesday night. Whatever happens we have NOT got EPL standard players, just an average bunch (exceptions SG and FT and Carra) who somehow seemed to achieve a hell of a lot for us last year. Why then not this year. God only knows. I certainly don’t. My prediction after three games was 7th. I reckon this might be a bit high!!!!!
Only we can go BACKWARDS under benitez we finish 2nd last season then everyone expect us to make a title challenge this season and 7th in league will get worse after other results today and out of the title race b4 the xmas decs has gone up so is this going forward?!? I DONT THINK SO!!!! we need to start finding a replacement its getting worse one win in ten is a shambles it really is we got more heart ache to come in CL on tuesday if we lose that then he needs to do the decent thing and make us fans happy and quit he is making us into a laughing stock we will be at least 10th after 5 oclock today no doubt the pathetic prick will make excuses again as he usually does didnt use aquilani AGAIN! he hasnt got a clue bring in mourinho or kenny!!!
i know how you feel kev, i donot understand how kuyt plays everyweek. i know lucas is poor, but today he made kuyt look like worse than him. i also have my doubts about insua too, good with the ball,but needs to do better defending. only sg looked like a liverpool player today, nogo needs help, and kuyt needs booting out of anfield. he is so poor ,too slow usless first touch, crap at finishing, a complete waste of space. we need him and lucas out and replaced with real liverpool players. the greek lad did ok , yes the two injuries did not help but were so poor in midfield, and at the back for me it is time to get the kids out, if i was pacheco, ecclestone,nemeth. i would be pissed of if kuyt played instead of me. its sad for me to say this but maybey this season will make us all wake up and see that we have far too much deadwood. and they need to be removed changes are needed kuyt, lucas babel have been there long enough, its time to move on…
It should be patently clear to one all by now that the change most necessary is the manager.
we consistently play at Anfield with a back four and two holding midfield players – we then have one lone striker up front. Irrespective of the individual merits of the players RB has signed this tactic is a disgrace to the Club. Even if he had money he would play the same way – he is a one trick pony and the EPL have him sussed.
When, not if he has gone, a decent manager can make something from the squad. Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carra, Skrtel, Masch, Aquilani ( we believe ) Torres and SG – 9 players who can make it work.
Benayoun, Riera, Babel, Insua, Kelly are good enough with 9 “seniors” and the right man management.
This has to happen now – miss out on fourth and the “9″ will look elsewhere.
Benitez is not the right man for the Title – never has been and never will be.
We cannot wait any longer – 13 points adrift of Chelsea “level” with Sunderland and Stoke.
Anfield Red should be doing all it can to make this happen.
im not gonna say much…. but i totally agree with all of wot u r saying ,its worse than last year we need 2 sell the dead beat & buy players who r willing 2 give their all they all should take a leaf out of s.g, torres, carra & reina’s bucket & look, listen & learn how they play wots the use if only 3 or 4 of our players r playing from their hearts & the others r just playing 4 wages

well said julie, i understand kev he,s had enough of rafa. i cannot say he is wrong, i am not happy with many things and i have said all along that i will stand by rafa, till the end of the season. but i am pissed off with the team selection i hate kuyt more than lucas both should be outed, i agree with otleyred the system rafa uses is not good enough. and it needs changing to holding players at home, is crap. were all in for a bumpy ride this season my pride will not let me ever walk away ive been here before with souness, and houiller. and no doubt it will happen again. no prem, no c/league, fa cup? who knows i do think thoe next season will be diffrent, because as it stands there will be masive changes to many. theres the world cup so there goes are players comming back nackerd for pre season, its the first time i have ever said this but i cannot wait till the season ends…
I see that SG has just said on the LFC site that “we know we can put this (the season) right”. I don’t know where we would be with him and Torres but please Steve, why has the season got to the stage where it needs “to be put right”. Why didn’t it get off to a great start at Tottenham, why allow Villa to come to Anfield and beat us etc, etc!!!!
You Know what guys its had to face the reality but i disagree with almost every one here only on one issue. i know most of our players are below average.But wait a minute with our History, a fan base that any other team can dream of, last year’s 2nd best team. We don’t deserve to make only one win in ten games why because Alonso and Hypia left. Impossible!!.
Our biggest problem now is RAFA. take him out and we start wining i have said it before and will say it again he is making us loose on purpose(he certainly the opposite of the RAFA i know). Good enough Kev J agrees with me.
Btw i had also decided not to come again unless RAFA is out but i remebered that its my duty to call 4 his sucking. 4 the first time in my life i am shy of bieng a Lfc fan.
Lastly every team has shit players but it is the work of the manager to make sure their shitness doesn’t cost the team a game. Out Rafa before you multiply by zero all the achievements you have made in your life.
