Fans? Supporters? Loyal?

Spoilt more like. I seriously do not know where to start with some of the pitiful, pig headed excuses for arguments being put forward by you lot.

Liverpool fans are admired the world over for their patience, their ability to back a manager and support their side through thick and thin. The people who feel this have obviously never visited this forum and heard the pathetic negativity being spewed from all quarters. Very few things in life rile me, but the narrow-mindedness here appalls me, it really does.

My job as a Liverpool correspondent has allowed me to see so much more behind the scenes than ever before*, and all I can say is that the club has problems running right through it. No decision, be it tactical, transfer market or PR, is black and white. There are a million factors which go into every single decision.

Warring, uncommunicative owners, a poorly-maintained academy structure where players are too comfortable and not given the motivation to kick on and become first team material - something which King Kenny has been brought in to help remedy - and an incredibly delicate financial situation, make it such a difficult job for Benitez and his team. Yet six months ago, they went as close as anyone has been in the last 19 years to delivering a league title. Six months ago. And suddenly he is the devil incarnate after a few bad results and performances? You "fans" need to grow up, and realise what football is like.

* A little example for you. Did you know why we pretty much HAD to get Glen Johnson in this summer? Portsmouth have not even finished paying CHELSEA for him, and owed half of the Peter Crouch fee to us. Benitez was looking at Kyle Naughton of Sheffield Utd and Rafinha of Schalke, but took a decision that, in order to avoid missing out on the money owed for Crouch, we could get Johnson in, up our English quota and add a player of quality to replace Arbeloa, who wanted out.

Portsmouth have since been banned from transfers due to money owed to Chelsea & Arsenal, money which they are unlikely to ever receive. So Liverpool, by having a smart manager and CEO, avoided falling into this trap, whilst adding a very good signing at the same time. Yet, what gets reported? "Reds ripped off for Johnson".....don't believe all you read in the red tops.

Anyway, my rant is over. I am not one to hold grudges, or to get into slanging matches, but the criticisms being levelled at OUR CLUB's MANAGER is over the top and really, really grates.

scientists say that when u love some one so much then the negative part of your brain is inactivated. You always think positively about the guy. Ladies should know this better(Btw am not a doctor so don't ask me about this!) so those still in favor of Rafa i forgive you but the longer it takes to see the reality the more it hurts you at the end. We may look some young annoyed bitter Yong men but i don't care.

i wanted a win but when lyon equalized i also just needed a loss to help those who still can't believe what they see after all the difference is now the similarity as far as CL is concerned.
Where as i may not say RB is a poor manager but i can confidently assure you that he will never win the EPL with LFC. And KEV J happy birthday in advance mine was on the last Wednesday when Arsenal boys kicked the hell out of US i think it was one of my worst i don't wana remember it!.

Lastly we still have a chance to win the EPL the season is still fresh and the Mancs and chelsea are not on fire as such. All we need is to SACK SACK SACK RB he even seems to attract bad luck like a magnet!!

Before u rejoice let me remind u that we also stand an equal chance of being relegated you don't believe me keep supporting Rafa and you will see.

I don't think many of us would disagree with what you are saying but where are the players OF EPL STANDARD who will come in to lift us? We can't do anything until January and we simply until then will have to (God forbid) rely on rubbish (and that's being kind) like Voronin, lead footed Babel etc, etc. Reira has only one trick and is clearly not in Benitez's long term plans. My main concern is for the morale of Torres. If he gets the shits with the club and wants away then we should all feel pretty scared. Clearly he and Gerrard are the only two, yes the only two, players at Anfield at the moment who worry the opposition. If Torres pulls the pin the club are stuffed. Torres is not stupid, he is ambitious and he won't want to be with a club that is, at the very best at the moment, only treading water. Like you Mark Walters Step Over, I expect to get stick for saying this, but as I said a few days ago we can sing YNWA till we're blue in the face but we simply do not worry the opposition any more. Yes we'll get up for the odd game like the Mancs but whether we like to hear it or not, we have no consitency, little skill that the PL requires and no idea of who should be running where or who should be marking who at any given time.

Some great banter there KevJ as usual, not sure how old everyone is but I have been going and supporting for 30yrs now and for the 1st time ever I wanted to turn the tv off against Fulham it was the worst 2nd half I think I have ever seen. Tonight was a better show but I think game after game at the moment our flow and midfield is awful. I am not going to go on about Lucas too much he just is not good enough I can't remember a starting line up he would get a game in he makes Cheyrou look like Pele and Pony tail would be hard pushed to play in my subuteo team, babel has the 1st touch of a blind man, then the defence seems more at sea then I have ever seen, bring back Glen Hysyen = seriously it's been a long time since we have put out a team week after week with so many bad players to the point where its dragging the good ones down, Mash looks throughly pissed off and Torres and Beny even the most positive players in the team look like they have had enough -Kuyt and Jamie. I am not a Rafa hater but I am a football lover and better red to the bone but I have finally reached a point that I thought would never happen and that was a part of me hoped we lost tonight so he would get the boot. I know I am going to get some stick for saying that but its time for some new direction some new passion time for change....................

Rafa's Tactics - or lack thereof

You look at the goals we concede - against chelsea and fulham in particular - and you'll see that goals are conceded when we needlessly give away possession in midfield, with players trying to carry the ball forward but not having the confidence or the options to pass the ball to a team-mate.

Gerrard, Riera and Benayoun are great with the ball at their feet running towards goal and threatening defenders but in the past few weeks with missed Gerrard and Riera and Benayoun keeps on being subbed leaving us with few midfield attacking options.

Its only against United where the midfielders played wonderfully and won us the game.

How many games do we have to lose before we get rid of Rafa. He was responsible for letting Alonso go, and for spending GBP45m on a defender and an injured midfielder, and then he moans about money.

He has bought and sold astiker almost every season -Bellamy, Crouch and Keane - so its pretty obvious he does not know who to sign.

We do have good players but our midfield is poor. Enough said about Voronin - no arguments there - but the Lucas-Kuyt-Babel contingent is looking quite ordinary.
Not only do they look toothless in attack but the likes of Lucas give away too many free kicks in dangerous areas.

Unless Benetiz goes and we get a manager who recognizes talent and signs the right players we'll get nowhere. And that's a fact.

The recent starting eleven has been ridic-licka-licka-lous

We can sing YNWA as much as we like but it doesn't scare teams any more and that's simply because we don't have the players who other teams fear. You are so right Kev we are in an absolute mess as a club. We can't seem to pass accurately, lack ideas, can't control a pass when we get one and can't put away a chance when it comes to us - that overpaid and totally useles `striker' Voronin yet again tonight being a prime example. Gerrard must have been as sick as a parrot. I will love this club till the day I die but I really fear for us at the moment. We have owners who clearly don't understand what the club is all about, a manager who seems to perhaps have done all he can for us and players who scare no-one. We have the odd day (that one against the Mancs was one!!) when we look the goods but then we throw away all the ground we have made like last Saturday. The CL has been a nightmare and I watched every game and apart from our fortunate first home game we have been outclassed. Don't tell me anything different! I know we have injuries but so does every other club. What we don't have is good enough cover for the one or two good players we have at PL and CL level. Benitez keeps saying that he has players for the future and this may be so, but our need is right now. As I said earlier I fear for the club. I hate Leeds with a passion but unless soemone gets hold of this club reasonably quickly I can see us going down their path. Nobody thought it would happen at Elland Road but it did. I really don't know where we as a club should or can start to rebuild as I believe we have now got to a point when we should rebuild. Our PL season is gone, as is the CL, the Carling Cup was bugger all and well I suppose the FA Cup would be something. But we have huge problems to overcome in the immediate future. Will Torres want to stay? You have to ask that question. Similarly if we are on the slide how do we get quality players to want to come hear. I really am in a state of despair!
