Alberto Aquilani is in contention to play against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing day after missing the tie against Portsmouth last weekend.
Aquilani has been one of the most talked about players to have barely played a game for Liverpool, yet there’s a chance he will finally be given a league start against Wolves given the fact Mascherano is injured/suspended. Rafael Benitez confirmed the Italian could play: “Alberto picked up a calf injury in the win against Wigan and was not able to travel to Portsmouth.”
“He is getting better but we will have to see how he progresses. He is certainly in contention to play against Wolves

Pacheco, N’Gog, Kelly, Darby and possibly Babel and Riera could also deliver the goods.
Lucas, Dossena, Kuyt and Johnson are shite – Glenn Johnson has no idea how to defend whatsoever – absolutely none.
Kenny can hold the fort until May when a big name needs to come in and end this misery – good to hear the Kop singing Dalglish on Boxing Day.
Footballers at any level need belief, passion, leadership, confidence and some fun – all of which Benitez has extinquished from the Club.
The Onwers have to make the decision now – this is the most important 5 months in the the Clubs history for a long, long time.

I wonder where the problem is Johnson started the season very well but slowly by slowly he is becoming poor and poorer. could it be true that indeed RB is a talent killer! or could it be that shytness in football is contagious. Many players like Babel Lucas etc came to Anfield with a promising CV but they only get worse with time.
On the contrary some players that have left Anfield under RB reign look better now like Crouch, Bellamy etc no wonder we are now linked with Heskey! what does RB see in him that he never saw before?. It will be a miracle to get any point at Villa 2day tho am opportunistic we should win because the chance to get the season’s hope back on truck is either now or never.
it looks like the yanks are more shyt than i thought and are no even thinking of getting RB out of lfc. You are so right Kev. The one thing, and what a big one!!!, is the correct result and a great goal by one of cuurently only two/three top flight PL standard players we have. Pach WILL be another if only The Cautious One will give him an extened chance.

We missed signing Sneijder from madrid for 9 million was it? We miss out on a lot of players im afraid and end up buying youngsters who no matter what they do dont get into the first team on a regular basis. Babel is off i feel. Lucas and Kuyt are staying unfortunately.

At least my new year will be Ok with this win as i said before the game we are only at the mercy of our good players 2 do the miracles and at Villa park Torres and Reina did exactly that. Every time Rafa stood up i would feel butterflies inside my stomach knowing that he would do the unthinkable of substituting Torres because he wasn’t seen most of the game. He needs some one to help him up there. Thank God RB left him on for the entire game. SG can no longer give enough help to Torres because he has Lucas’s number to play also.
If we get another ugly win from spurs then our confidence can start to return slowly. Looking at rafa’s starting line up and the bench it almost left me hopeless. We really need a no. 10 and no.7 in our team.!!
