Liverpool finally get much needed win against Wigan

Liverpool beat Wigan 2-1 at Anfield with David N’Gog and Fernando Torres getting the goals.
Torres got on the end of a bad header by Emerson Boyce, rounded Kirkland then had his initial shot saved by Bramble on the line, but then tapped in the rebound to kill the game off.
Kuyt had a few chances to score, but Kirkland was equal to him after N’Gog played in a decent pass to the Dutchman but his first time shot was saved.
Aquilani made a cameo appearance and tried an audacious overhead kick but it went straight into Kirkland’s hands.
David N’Gog got Liverpool’s first goal after beating the Wigan Keeper to a cross from Aurelio to head it into the goal at the Anfield Road end.
There was some amazing passing moves in this game, look for the play between Gerrard, Carragher, Benayoun and Kuyt on Match of the day later, while Skrtel and Aquilani played a decent one-two towards the end of the game. The most important thing was the win, which N’Gog and Torres delivered. N’Zogbia scored a decent individual goal in injury time, beating 3 Liverpool players across the area before shooting past Reina.

Hi Eddie, yes a dreadful season and if you remember an equally dreadful pre season. The first game at Spurs made me really nervous about what was to come and i haven’t been wrong. What have we sunk to when we possibly could get RVN in January!. Another cast off, who may or may not do the job for us. For absolute certain as we continue to sink and lose, those other players who we assume will want to walk through the Shankly gates will not want to be associated with a side which has a negative and losing culture. And I say again Torres is a professional footballer who wants to win trophies – he will not want to play with this rubbish for much longer, contract or not!

Kev J, as usual i don’t think you are far from the reality with your conclusion. It is Rafa’s endless battles with the yanks that can force him into making us look shyt. First was the delayed contract that was dragged on for some months which some think cost us the EPL cup last season of of course with the infamous rant on another old shyt fergie.
