Liverpool drew 0-0 with Wolves this evening, failing to close the gap on Spurs in 4th place who beat Fulham 2-0.
Maxi Rodriguez got his debut, while Stevie Gerrard returned to first team action having been out since the FA Cup game against Reading in which he came off injured at half time.
Riera had a couple of chances through a first half header and a volley that was saved by Hahnemann, but Liverpool didn’t create much in a game they were clear favourites to win. David N’gog was brought on to bring some pace to the front line, but as with the rest of the team; he failed to make an impact.
Another disappointing result, points dropped. Bolton at home on Saturday doesn’t look much better.

This is what was due to happen after the tinkleman sent his best player from the previous game to the bench.. Was it a crime for aquilani to have played well last week??? Wat has degen got to do?? Stay at the back and become shit as caragher just providing outs and corner kicks to get some encouragement to play?? Why the hell to we need a holding midfielder against WOLVEs???? Caragher is too old and useless wherever he plays in the team… we need a massive change at lfc!! Look at how many chances we created against wolves! How many saves did their keeper have to make, that tells the story!! What hurts is that Fergie said our movements would be predictable with the loss of Alonso and Rafa has fulfilled that prophesy. I swear when lucas has the ball all the players on the pitch, those on the bench and the fans in the cloud know whom he’s gona give it to that is the unmarked player behind him.
Unless Aquillani takes over Lucas’s position and Kuyt leaves the striking line forget seeing any footy from our beloved lfc. Not even Gerald or Torres can save us from the embarrassment in such situation. Tell me any Killer pass that Lucas has ever made. He must be the worst no 8 in EPL.

Kenwyne jones is a striker for the future, no way is he worth 10/14m. he is worth about 7m max.

babel will keep boltons back 4 stretched with his pace and movement upfront. aqualini and sg controlling the game from centre-mid. when degen and maxi bomb forward to support babel, aqualini, sg, our fullbacks move higher up the pitch, with our 2 centrehalfs and mash marking boltons 1 striker. even if bolton counter attack, the reds will have enuff players at the back to deal with this. the above system allows 5/7 players to support the attack, also allowing enuff players to defend boltons attack.

my post about rafa leaving to go to Juve, was info from a business mate of mine, who is working in Italy at the moment. talk over there is that rafa is Juve No1 target, to become their new manager, in the summer.
If Juve want Rafa to become their new manager, then LFC should tell rafa to take the job offer (so LFC does not have to sack him in the summer and pay him 20m) and LFC will get compo from Juve for taking rafa as their new manager. i say about 3m compo from Juve will be nice.
rafa moves to one of the top clubs in Italy and we the fans are happy that rafa has gone, without costing the club 20m+, in compo if he was sacked and hopefully LFC have got some like GUUS lined up to take over rafa’s job.
Everyone is happy. plus rafa signs Lucas, Kuyt, for Juve, for 15m. so this gives the new manager of LFC, a transfer summer budget of over 30m, for new players, i hope.

Nothing will change with RB – he was actually happy with last night – no goals conceded joy oh joy another clean sheet, lots of possession – all in the first two thirds of the pitch but hey ho lots of possession. Kuyt upfront where he fails again so lets move him back to right wing where he fails most of the season and then massage the confidence and ego of the latest signing by playing him on the wrong wing at the end when we need a goal just to acoomodate Kuyt failing. if it wasn’t so bloody tragic it would be laughable. George like you I despair at the current situation but we must get fourth place somehow to maintain the revenue stream – you’re right, most CL sides would take us to the cleaners but we must get that money to avoid the Leeds scenario.

You only have to look at the body language all round the club – this season is a write off and everyone knows it, everyone accepts that change is inevitable and as a result the reaction is muted to the current plight – not clever but I am convinced that is where we are – let’s get the plans in place for August with whoever is coming in – but 4th spot is needed simply for the cash.

If you read anything Benitez says, it makes little sense. Have a look at some or all the things he has said, say, in the past week and when you anaylse it, it means absolutely stuff all. I’m wondering why jounalists don’t ask him to explain what he means. I see that he is supposedly keen to retain Babel. This saddens me because although I thought Babel was going to be the best thing since sliced bread, he has not turned out that way. I know that he has seldom been played where he prefers to play but he just doesn’t seem to have the interest or enthusiasm for our club. I was amazed when I heard Xabi say that Babel was the most skilful at the club. He has an awful first touch. I fear we will only get a draw against Bolton. I see them coming to Anfield and putting up the shutters right from the kick off. We should of course be able to break them down but, these days, I have no confidence.
