Liverpool beat Portsmouth 4-1 at Anfield, with Torres scoring twice and Alberto Aquilani getting his first goal for Liverpool.

The Reds were 3-0 up at half time, and Anfield were expecting the final score to be about 8 or 9 nil (and it could have been) but Liverpool only found the net once more in the 2nd half, with Fernando Torres completing the rout.

In what was arguably the best performance of the season by this Liverpool team, (apart from the 2-0 win over the mancs), Rafa’s side dominated from start to finish, there were many positives to take from the game – Aquilani played a blinder; Babel got the full 90 mins, Torres looks back to full fitness, Maxi picked out some decent passes; the only downsides were that we conceded and didn’t score more than the 4. A fully deserved win to take us into the United game at the weekend, if we play like this then a win is definately on the cards.

i think different than almost all of suporters, i think kuyt gives a lot of sacrifice and he would help us, but the important thing is to keep winning and to beat united

from Chile to the reds

Your quite right chileisredtoo, kuyt does give a lot of effort and the same can be said of lucas this season too compared to previous ones, but they are players lacking in skill and pace, if we did not have the 3 games in 7 days coming up, rafa would have been playing his favourite son and nephew, so well done aquilani for taking this opportunity to play well and score too, kuyt and lucas are being saved mainly for sunday, rafa will be looking for 1-0, i just hope the lille game does not take to much out of the players, it’s obviously going to be hard graft on sunday for whoever plays, £20 million on a player he is scared to play, shame on you rafa.

now why cant we play like that in every match well done lads abt time good luck on sunday hope we win xx

Who’s read the BS coming out of the useless one’s mouth now! according to rafa aquilani has a stomach bug and rafa also said he’s struggling for fitness! WHAT A FARCE! how can a player have the MOTM v’s pompey then all of a sudden from rafa he’s ’struggling for fitness’ what BS he was imense on monday running all over the place and putting in tackles he seems FIT to me! this is all rafa’s fcuking doing this is we can see his favourite boy lucas playing v’s lille if he’s playing then we are going out! and going back to the 2 holding MF’s crap again!

yea and kuyt too, maxi cannot play, hes cup tied if aquilani can,t play, then let pacheco play. leave lucas, and kuyt on the bench. and insua ike him going forward but not defending. give kelly his job. then the mancs on sunday it will be kuyt, and lucas then..

Hi Rouman. Pach unlikely v Lille I would think as he played in the Senior Cup I believe -AND SCORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
