Steven Gerrard’s ‘v’-antics appears to be a bigger story than last night’s humbling loss to Wigan. And why not? I mean, it’s not like Liverpool lost a match to a club that defeated a ‘big four’ side for only the second time in their history. Oh, right. That should probably rate as the bigger story…
Whilst Gerrard continues to get heat for his two-fingered salute, Liverpool continue to give the same gesture to the supporters, showing zero urgency in what could be the most embarrassing loss this season next to the 2-0 away defeat to Pompey earlier in the year.
Quite honestly, the thought of this club joining the ranks of the top four once again seemed a bit premature given the up-and-down season they’ve endured. Just when you thought Rafa had things going in the right direction, the club turned a complete 180 and reverted to their old ways, playing with little heart and passion.
Dirk Kuyt turned in a dreadful performance, losing the ball on impact, whilst also passing the pill like it was a ten-ton stone. He had ZERO touch, and I still think that’s being kind. Gerrard and Torres never seemed to get things going. Torres seemed lost for most of the match, blowing the ball over the bar when he should have been having a go at the keeper.
Gerrard, who has a knack for bringing the club back when we need it most, seemed stuck in the middle of the park. You almost half expected Rafa to release him forward after Lucas was replaced by Glen Johnson in the second half. But that never seemed to transpire when Liverpool need it the most.
All in all, there’s not much more you can say that hasn’t already been said. The team was poor and deserved to drop all three points. The reintroduction of players that have been on the physio table doesn’t solve every problem.
Liverpool are once again dealing with the same problem they’ve dealt with in the past, and that’s getting up for mid-table clubs. It’s been Rafa’s biggest banana skin before, and it continues to be to this very day.
Something has to change if the club wants to make it back to the top four before the close of the campaign.

When are the fans going to wake up to this mess. This is the great LFC we are talking about the club played dreadful were not in sync with one another and in fact were not happy playing with each other and when the players do that it is usually about the manager. For to long this man has slowly ruined a great club. The club is very unlikely to end up 4th place this season, forth? I have never heard such a thing LFC have always chased the top spot! but not being in the top four means no europe and no europe means no money = no new players no wage rises and so on. I am sorry but with two owners who cant sort the club fianaces out a managar who is suffering with mental health problems and players who dont want to play with one another and Carragher not happy at Liverpool I can only see a slide down and out of thre Premier over the next few years!! Yes I feel that strong about my beloved team. It is time for the manager to go.

The yanks need to sack rafa a.s.a.p! then they need to sell up aswell,why has it all gone quiet on the takeover side, us fans haven’t heard a thing on the progress or if there will be a takeover there was talk from purslow but since last year we haven’t heard anything does anyone else know anything?

everyone knows there is somethink, wrong at anfield big time. its not only rafa theres talk of players dislike of carra, because of they way he shouts at them. also ive heard there is a distrust between a few of them too. plus sg and carra are losing faith in rafa too, also rumours of the yanks not finding the money to pay the banks in time. as i have said before the club needs changing from top to bottom, and the rafa in trust crowd, need to stop playing the loyalty card. there are no prizes for this there never will be, only destruction between liverpool fans. i talk from both sides i was a big rafa fan, and he is a nice guy. i won,t slag him off or try to belittle him but his time is up. he must know for whatever reason he is not the man for the job. he can blame the owners if he wants, but the result is the same, time to go rafa. the owners need to go too. we as liverpool fans know its time for a change as hard as it might be for some, it is the truth…
Rafa must be laughing at us and i no longer believe he is stubborn because the people who should sack him are more stubborn. Look RB has done every thing with in his power to get sacked but all in vain. only 10% of his mistakes this season should have been enough for him to go. But at 100% he is still here.
Even from the business side he is a liability other than an asset to the club. Why a hell on earth did he spend our little money on Aquillani when he new his boyfriend Lucas was going to play every game!!.

On 20th January Darby came on as a sub against Tottenham. Less than two months later he is on his way to a First Division side (not even a Championship side). We have f..ing overpriced rubbish like Johnson, Christ knows how many million sitting on the bench in Aquilani and a useless bastard like Lucas pulling on the shirt every game. Thanks Stephen, you might be back but don’t hold your breath son. Ask Paul Anderson, Craig Linfield and the others who have gone out `on loan’. Not many return. Kelly has but he, a genuine local talent is blocked well and truly by Johnson. Our club is absolutely buggered. It really is. Rouman seems to have some good `insiders’ at Anfield. I would like to hear from him (through them) if things are as bad as they appear. I said expect nothing at Lille. I’m saying the same against Pompey.

Otleyred that’s very true unless we act all the good players will leave. Last night i saw deep anger in Torres. And you don’t blame him if us who are watching are almost basting our ball out of frustration from RB’s crap. Imagine being in the middle of such scrap when you are competing for the player of the year award against the Messi’s and Ronaldo’s.
Bable should have been substituted in the 1st half he really tested Torres patience with all the chances he squandered. Lucas and Kuyt oh my God why doesn’t Rafa save them the embarrassment. They have now added tiredness to all their weaknesses we have been lamenting on here since the season begun.
In summary we played 9 men(Kuyt and Lucas were as good as absent) and one Lilli player in a our team in the name of Bable (because Lilli must be very happy with his contribution). oh and RB the Grate!!.
I really feel jealousy of you Kev J i had also not watched the 2nd half because it left me totally hopeless because its clear there is a cancer at Anfield that is slowly but surely eating it up. Off the pitch – his determination to control everything given his obvious failings has led to a bloody mess which the owners should never have allowed.
They all need to go Eddie – one thing sure as eggs are eggs – any thought of Benitez being there in August should worry all of us ! They have to start with him.
