Stevie Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have today spoke out about the appointment of Roy Hodgson as Liverpool manager, saying he is the right man for the job and how they are looking forward to working with him.

Gerrard and Carragher; speaking as Captain and Vice captain, had this to say on their new boss:

Gerrard: The club have made a good appointment in Roy Hodgson, Rafa left a few weeks ago and I know the club were determined to take their time and get the right man for the job.

“Roy is hugely experienced and I believe he is the right man for Liverpool. I think it’s been worth the wait and I’m sure he’s just keen now to get on with it and start to quickly put in place his plans for the new season.”

Carragher:“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of working with Roy Hodgson as he’s got such a great reputation in the game and is one of the most experienced managers in world football.

“After this period of uncertainty, his appointment has given us all a lift.”

Good to hear this , but how much of it will guarantee that Gerrard stays?

If he wants to go then there is nothing we can do to stop it.

He is 30 now and if he doesnt want to win the EPL with us then he wants to win a league with someone else. Not necessarily the EPL. Just look at what happened to JUDAS.

He left seeking more medals and we won the Champions league.

Its bullshit how “Professionals” conduct themselves and leave us fans , the ones who pay their salaries in heartache.

If you want to leave LFC do so and the best of luck. Dont beat round the bush.

Torres is the same.

They leave for example. We still have Aquilani, Lucas, Jovanovic, Pacheco, Kuyt( Cant believe i said that , but he is LFC).

Just read that Yossi has shoved off and gives us 5.5 mil. Plus Roy lining up Van Der Vaart and Drenthie from Real.

LFC will and always will be bigger than everyone who comes and goes. Nothing will change how we feel about the club regardless if we win the league or end up as a conference side<<<god forbid.

Heres to a new season and a fresh beginning.

I agree with you scouse4life1979 if a player doesnt want to be here piss him off. Bennyoun is a prime example he orchestrated his move so see ya later he epitomises too many of todays players just in it for the money, Chelsea are welcome to him he is Mr Inconsistancy .

Hopefully we say the same to others like Babel and Reirra who wanted to go earlier in the year. We have too many not good enoughs, personally I doubt Gerrard or Torres will leave. I hope not they are both top performers.
Mascherano is another trying to orchestrate a move hopefully he will continues to play well in the World Cup and we get top dollar for him.

We need players who want to play for the club not jumped up overpaid prima donnas.

WELL DONE to everyone on the YANKS OUT march today apparently it was very well attended between 2-5,000 people depending on which paper you read.

THE SOONER WE RID OURSELVES OF THIS MONEY MAKING SCUM THE BETTER – may they choke on the money they make from our club.
