Borini suffers fractured foot

The Italian FA has confirmed on its website that the Reds striker Fabio Borini has suffered a fractured right foot while away with their U21 side.

If there are no major complications, it will mean that the 21 year old is likely to miss between six and eight weeks recovering.

An MRI scan on Thursday revealed the full extent of the injury and news of his setback will be a major blow to Liverpool who only has one other recognized senior striker in Luis Suárez.

“The Liverpool striker has fractured the scaphoid bone in his right foot and will miss the playoffs with Sweden,”

The injury may allow youngster Adam Morgan some first team action in the coming weeks.

Have to agree with you -so far!!! Chance for Morgan and particularly Ngoo. Not PL but Capitol and Europa. Cups. From what I see of him Ngoo is difficult to mark because of his apparent ungainliness but he seems to usually win the ball when tackled. Would normally say that this is still too early for both Morgan and/or Ngoo – but we are not in a normal situation!! I hate these internationals but all clubs have players away and like most of us I hope all the rest of our lads will return to Anfield ready to get full points against Reading.
