I’ve never put a lot of weight in betting odds when it comes to figuring out a player or coach’s next move, but a story that came out today gave me a pretty good idea of what Liverpool is up against this summer with Benitez no longer in place.
Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard are the biggest names being linked with moves away this summer, and while I’d be completely shocked to see both leave the club after the World Cup, there’s still a pretty good chance that both will be linked with a number of clubs in the coming months.
Gerrard’s odds have already been slashed, and we haven’t even reached the first day of the World Cup. Sky Bet has already slashed his odds of moving to Real Madrid this summer from 6/5 to 8/11, making it clear that Gerrard is the more likely of the two to walk away from the club.
Ever been commended by a colleague for your multi-tasking skills? I’m sure you have. Some of us can boast the ability to play Football Manager, whilst also being able to manage a full-time desk job at the same time. Others can eat a pie and skip rope simultaneously. Both are skills that should put you in the pantheon of multi-tasking greatness.
But I digress. If there are two things that go together like pubs and pints, it’s football and games. Seriously, what’s better than watching a football match when you’ve got a fantasy football team to deal with? It adds a little spice to the match.
That’s where Picklive comes in. This addicting game (yes, it’s beyond addicting), allows you to pick three footballers from the match and watch them gain or lose points based on completed passes (+1) or fouls (-3 points), etc during a 10 minute game period.
You play against a room of other players who are all trying to see if they can grab more points than you. You’re allowed to make three substitutions in the 10 minute period. The goal is to win as many 10 minutes games as you can before the real football match is over.

Steven Gerrard has hailed Liverpool’s demolition of Real Madrid as ‘Fantastic’ after the Reds won 4-0 at Anfield.
Gerrard led by example in attack last night, scoring twice as Liverpool battered one of the best teams in the world in a performance he hailed as fantastic: “We got the job done in the first 30 minutes tonight when I thought we were awesome,” said Gerrard.
“The second half was about seeing it out and fortunately we were able to score a couple more goals.
“We’re all really pleased. It was important to win and book our place in the last eight. It was a fantastic team performance tonight.
“We have to give a special mention to Yossi Benayoun tonight. He was fantastic in the first leg and was unfortunate to be injured for this game. We have to enjoy tonight first, Some players will need some treatment after picking up knocks and we’ll start concentrating on the United game tomorrow.”

Bookies have been taking bets on Thierry Henry to join Liverpool in the january transfer window.
Betfred were offering 33/1 for the frenchman to sign for Liverpool, but this has now been reduced to 20/1 and were also offering 125/1 for Henry to score against Arsenal in the FA Cup this weekend, but that has since been taken down.
Henry has been quoted in the past as saying that if he could have played for any other English team it would be us, but after crap in the papers saying he could be on his way, and with Liverpool on the verge of being taken over, people have been betting regularly on Arsenal's hitman moving to Anfield this month.
These are the same odds as Liverpool winning the Champion's league this season, so expect to see Thierry running out at Anfield sometime soon
