Do better than Roy Hodgson (not that it would be hard)
Wannabe Premiership managers; It’s that time of year again, Football Manager comes out soon, it’s time to drop everything, stay up until 4am promising yourself “one more game” as you work your way through the season, as Football Manager 2011 is launched on November 5th, however a demo is available from tomorrow. Download it now and start the season your way, and hopefully you wont be in the relegation zone in October!
Liverpool have hardly had the best of starts under Hodgson, so what would you do differently? Now is your chance to pick the starting 11, players in their correct positions (for example Poulsen in the reserves, Meireles in the centre of midfield) and win the games we should have won this season.
You’ll be able to sell & sign who you want, so you’ll definitely need a new striker to start the new season, unless you want to do the opposite of Hodgson and give Babel a chance to shine upfront, or give Pacheco a run out; just don’t head straight to the forums that tell you the best players to get, half of the fun is discovering these gems yourself.
I’ve been a fan of Football Manager for years, trying to unearth the latest talent before anyone else, such as Tevez & Mascherano, Freddy Guarin, Daniel Braathen, Fernando Cavenaghi, Vincent Kompany, Anthony Vanden Borre and Igor Akinfeev. Over the years I’ve seen more and more FM stars appearing in the Premiership; Kompany at City, Borre at Portsmouth , even Braathen got a game at Bolton, although he didn’t have the same goalscoring effect!
The latest edition of Football Manager 2011 will be out in the shops from November 5th and it’s going to be better than ever. Football Manager 2011 will be jam-packed full of new features such as real-time contract negotiations for more realistic dealings with agents, a new set-piece creator, and a completely overhauled training system.
If you want to download the demo before everyone else, you can do so at the Mirror Football website, who are making it available from Thursday 21st October, a full day before the demo is launched properly on 22nd October.
