So Sir Alex has come out after the match and made comments directed towards Luis Suarez that he thinks he is a disgrace and should never play for our club again.

“He’s a disgrace to Liverpool Football Club, that certain player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again.”

I personally think Sir Alex is a Hypocrite with a very short memory of his own “Honourable” club. Does he forget that one of his club’s Legends fly kicked a fan in the stand?

We also have video proof of both Keane and Scholes refusing to shake Patrick Vieira’s hand before a match, I guess he say a different tune that day? or did he believe those two should never have played for Manchester United again?

So Sir Alex, worry about your own club and their actions before you worry about our’s.
YNWA Luis Suarez.

Manchester United – Liverpool FC; the very thought of it strikes every chord of passion amongst either set of fans. This particular derby has often failed to exhibit the mesmerising displays of copacetic football expected by the neutrals across the globe. The contest which is often decided by individual bravura is widely described as ‘pixelated’ around the world. But the true significance & fascination of this fixture can only be determined by the two sets of fans. The contest has always been described as the “Match of the century” by the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. His Liverpool counterparts have also added fuel to fire by making it clear that – “This is the game the fans want to win the most, of all games”. With Kenny Dalglish back at the helm and the fact that Manchester United has surpassed Liverpool’s tally of 18 league titles, the rivalry has taken a giant leap onto a whole new level. The rivalry between the both managers has added extra incite to the frenzy.

Despite all that, the talk of the game will be Liverpool’s Uruguayan hitman Luis Suarez who returned last week from his nine match ban after he was charged for racially abusing the Manchester United left back Patrice Evra. The incident has not only fuelled further rage amongst the fans but has also worsened the relation between both clubs. Evra was given a torrid time by the home fans when Manchester United visited Anfield for the crunch FA Cup clash in January. The game was eventually won by Liverpool through a late winner from Dirk Kuyt. But the fact that the winner was a result of Patrice Evra’s error, multiplied the joy for the home fans. The galvanizing celebrations of Luis Suarez from the stands added to the woes of the away fans. Luis Suarez has made matters worse by revealing that – “I knew what I did and there is a kind of football law that says: ‘what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch and that’s the end of the story.’”. Suarez has made further provocations towards UTD fans by making it clear that their jeering will only affect their team as it will inspire him to perform better. “I know against United it is going to be tense because I’m going to face Evra. But I’m used to having fans whistle at me. I hope nothing unusual happens. I’ll have to forget what happened for that moment. “I do know Man United fans are going to try to make me feel uncomfortable. But I have to tell them, they are going to spur me on if they whistle at me.” – said the Uruguayan.

One thing is for certain; Luis Suarez will have the toughest time of his life on Saturday. The Uruguayan not only has to deal with the 11 players on the field but also has to face the wrath of the thousands of UTD fans who wait in anger. However it will be interesting to see how he reacts to it, as any negative reaction could have potentially damaging impact on his EPL career. While Suarez awaits the backlash from the UTD fans on Saturday and while there are many possible events; positive and negative, that can happen at tomorrow’s game, both teams certainly have a few factors working in their favour. Manchester United will certainly benefit if the home fans manage to demoralise Luis Suarez cometh Saturday. On the other hand, where everyone is focussed on the Suarez-Evra matter it could open a door for the Liverpool No. 9 to make a notable difference. With Carroll back in good touch from the last couple of weeks and a fit Steven Gerrard in the side Liverpool can exploit the negativities of the attention being given to Suarez.

On a whole the game promises to be another thrilling spectacle with plenty of controversies and drama waiting to unfold at the turf of Old Trafford cometh Saturday.

Manchester United vs Liverpool
11 February 2012
12.45 GMT
Old Trafford

History:
Total: 184
Liverpool Wins: 62
Manchester United Wins: 71
Draws: 51

Last Premier League Meeting: 15 October 2011 – Liverpool 1-1 Manchester United (Gerrard)

Form:
Liverpool: While the Reds have been unstoppable in the cups, their league form has been questionable. In their last five Premiership games, for example, Kenny’s Dalglish’s men have taken just five points. Their form against top teams, however, has been strong. They have taken 11 points from seven games against teams currently in the top six, and have brushed aside the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and United in the cups. Liverpool currently sit in seventh, but with a win could rise to fifth.
Manchester United: A week ago, United showed heart and resilience to come back from a 3-0 deficit to steal a point at Chelsea, and indeed that has been one of the main stories of their season. After a couple of awful defeats around the turn of the year, United took full points in their three games up to the Chelsea tie. They are currently in a battle with City for first place, being two points and nine goals behind.

Injury News:
Liverpool: While Liverpool’s injury problems have not been numerous, they have been heavy, with some of the club’s key players, including Lucas Leiva and Luis Suarez, missing time. Lucas remains out with his torn ACL, and dependable left-back Jose Enrique is expected to be out with a tight hamstring.
Manchester United: United are undoubtedly the hardest-hit team in the League, with a number of key players out injured. Anders Lindegaard (ankle), Chris Smalling and Anderson (knocks), Darren Fletcher (bowel), and Nemanja Vidic (knee) are all out indefinitely, but the United physio room could well get some much needed relief after the Liverpool game, with Tom Cleverley, Phil Jones, and Nani (ankle/foot) as well as ex-Kop hero Michael Owen (thigh) all potentially set to return.

Key Battle:
Patrice Evra vs Luis Suarez: This is the matchup everyone will be waiting for, as the two players who were in the middle of the racism scandal go head-to-head. Inevitably, cooler heads will prevail: If Suarez manages to focus on the task at hand, he could give the United defence nightmares, and, similarly, if Evra is unable to keep his temper, he could badly hurt his team.

Bet365 Odds:
Home Win: 5/6
Draw: 13/5
Away Win: 10/3

Anfield Red Score Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool were presented with a golden chance of going within 2 points of 4th place after Chelsea were held to another draw on the weekend against Manchester United. The return of Steven Gerrard from a minor injury which kept him out the week before will be extremely important for both Liverpool and England. With Gerrard returning for England they could well see there Euro 2012 betting odds improve dramatically.

But it was not to be as Liverpool were held to their eighth league draw at Anfield by a determined Spurs outfit.

Liverpool were without inform Jose Enrique due to picking up a minor injury, this then forced Glen Johnson to be switched to left back and Martin Kelly to play at right back. Luis Suarez returned from his nine game suspension but had to settle with a spot on the bench as Dalglish chose to go with Dirk Kuyt, Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll.

Spurs also had injury concerns of their own which included the absence of Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe and Rafael van der Vaart. They were also forced to be without manager Harry Redknapp who had his flight canceled from London’s City Airport after another long day in court.

Andy Carroll went close to opening the scoring early on after Steven Gerrard sent through an inch perfect pass to Carroll who was stopped by an inch perfect tackle by Michael Dawson.

Jay Spearing was also unlucky not to score after firing a great effort from distance which only just missed, This play was again setup by Gerrard who had another great game.

Even the return of Luis Suarez after his long lay-off was not enough to inspire the Reds to victory. The striker was introduced in the 66th minute to the delight of the crowd. Suarez had eyes only for the ball in the 74th minute when he attempted a volley, only to kick Scott Parker fair in the chest. There was no malice in this thou, but he was cautioned which was right decision. Even thou Wayne Rooney thought if would be a good idea to jump on twitter to criticize Suarez, ”If ref sees that kick from Suarez and books him for it, should be red”

Liverpool pushed to the end, but unfortunately couldn’t find that elusive goal. The team will have to improve next week if they want to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford. Next week’s match promises to be a fiery encounter but lets hope it’s remembered for the football on the pitch, rather than other events.

What do our fans think of the performance and the points we dropped today?

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
6 February 2012
20.00 GMT
Anfield

History:
Total: 153
Liverpool Wins: 70
Tottenham Wins: 45
Draws: 38

Last Premier League Meeting: 18 September 2011 – Tottenham 4-0 Liverpool

Form:
Liverpool: The last three games have been perhaps the best run of three games Liverpool have had this season, advancing in both cups with first a 2-2 draw against Manchester City in the League Cup then a 2-1 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup, before pulverizing Wolves a weekend ago by a 3-0 scoreline. Liverpool kick off February in sixth in the league, but a win could see them rise to fifth.
Tottenham: Spurs, one of the more surprising teams on the season, had a strong January, taking 10 points from a possible 15, and proved their dominance a week ago by beating Wigan easily 3-1. They continue to establish themselves as one of the Premier League’s better teams. Tottenham currently sit in third, just five points away from league-leaders Manchester City.

Injury News:
Liverpool: Fortunately, there are no new injuries to report at Anfield, with Lucas Leiva the only player out with his torn ACL. Jay Spearing is back in action after four games out with a hamstring injury, and Luis Suarez is eligible to return after his eight-game suspension.
Tottenham: Spurs’ surge up the table is all the more impressive when you consider the fact that they are one of the more hard hit teams in the League when it comes to injuries. That said, they should get a big boost against Liverpool, with Aaron Lennon (Hamstring) and Kyle Walker (Groin) set to return, with Emmanuel Adebayor (Hamstring), Jermain Defoe (Hamstring), and Rafael Van Der Vaart (Calf) also possible. David Bentley (Knee), William Gallas (Calf), Tom Huddlestone (Ankle), and Jermaine Jenas (Achilles) are all out long-term.

Key Battle:
Gareth Bale vs Glen Johnson: Gareth Bale is rapidly emerging as one of the Premier League’s elite players, and his nine goals and seven assists through 22 games have proved that. With Van Der Vaart out, Bale, who has been chased by Barcelona, is the key to the Tottenham attack, and if is able to run rampant, he can be lethal. It will be up to Glen Johnson to close him down and keep him quiet.

Bet365 Odds:
Home Win: 11/10
Draw: 12/5
Away Win: 5/2

Anfield Red Score Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham

It was a quite transfer window for Liverpool by last season’s standards, with Wrexham’s teenage goalkeeper Danny Ward the only notable arrival. However, since the window was introduced 10 seasons ago, the Reds have made some excellent signings in what is usually a frenzied period littered with hit-or-miss transfers.

Here are five Anfield arrivals that may have raised a few eyebrows but ultimately proved to be a big hit with the fans:

Daniel Agger

Signed from Brondby for £5.8 million in 2006.

The 21-year-old full back was a relative unknown when he joined Liverpool midway through the 2005-06 season. He was awarded “Danish Talent of the Year” back in his homeland about a month before securing a move to Anfield which made him the most expensive footballer sold by a Danish club to a foreign club. Agger was also Liverpool’s most expensive defender at the time.

He has been unfortunate with injuries during his time at the club. A metatarsal injury during the 2007 pre-season ruled him out for the majority of the campaign and a knee injury last season restricted him to just 16 league appearances.

Now in his seventh season at Anfield, Agger seems to be coming into his own. He has played the majority of games this season at centre back and has formed a great partnership with another transfer window signing, Martin Skrtel. Agger endeared himself to the Reds supporters by scoring the first goal in a 2-1 FA Cup fourth round victory against Manchester United. Punters who had raided a free bet site could have got 40/1 on him finding the net first.

Robbie Fowler

Signed from Manchester City on a free transfer in 2006.

Fowler joined Liverpool for a second time in January 2006 amid much fanfare and media hype despite an indifferent spell at Manchester City. His first goal finally came in March against Fulham – the same opponents against whom he scored his first ever Reds goal some 13 years earlier.

A goal against West Bromwich Albion meant he overtook Kenny Dalglish in the list of all-time Liverpool goalscorers and he ended the 2005-06 season with a respectable return of five goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

Fowler did not feature so much the next season but still scored seven goals in 23 appearances in all competitions, including a hat-trick of penalties against Sheffield United in the Premier League. A standing ovation in his final appearance in a Reds shirt against Charlton Athletic capped 369 appearances and 183 goals during two spells at the club.

Javier Mascherano

Signed from West Ham United on loan in 2007.

The Argentina international saw his transfer to Liverpool approved by FIFA on 31 January but the move was not made official until 20 February due to issues surrounding his third-party ownership by Media Sports Investments.

A string of excellent performances prompted then manager Benitez to describe him as “a monster of a player” and he was voted Liverpool’s man of the match after the Champions League final defeat against AC Milan. Mascherano finally signed a permanent contract at Anfield in February 2008 worth a reported £18.6 million. In September 2008, Mascherano was key in a 2-1 victory against Manchester United at Anfield. He was arguably at fault for allowing fellow countryman Carlos Tevez to break the deadlock after just three minutes but made amends when he set up what proved to be the winning goal.

The combative player finished the 2009-10 season with the worst disciplinary record in the Premier League with seven yellow cards and two red. Upon returning from the World Cup he expressed a desire to leave the club and joined Barcelona for £22 million.

Martin Skrtel

Signed from Zenit Saint Petersburg for £6.5 million in 2008.

After joining the club from Russian football, then manager Rafa Benitez compared 23-year-old Skrtel to Jamie Carragher. Those comparisons were noted by Liverpool fans during Skrtel’s first taste of a Merseyside derby, a 1-0 win against Everton and awarded him Man of the Match.

Like his defensive team mate Daniel Agger, Skrtel has suffered with injuries during his time at Anfield and saw his playing time in the Premier League restricted during both the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. However, he appeared in every minute of all 38 Premier League matches during the 2010-11 season, joining Everton full-back Leighton Baines as the only two outfield players to do so. Indeed, the only match Skrtel missed during that campaign was a Europa League play-off against Trabzonspor.

Now in his fifth season at the club, Skrtel has formed a rock-solid partnership with Agger and have displaced veteran and fan favourite Jamie Carragher from the first team. With the duo both aged 27, they are now approaching their career peak which can only be good news for Liverpool fans.

Luis Suarez

Signed from Ajax for £23 million in 2011.

Suarez has the dubious honour of being Liverpool’s record signing until his transfer fee was eclipsed by the £35 million arrival of Andy Carroll just hours later during the 2011 window.

The Uruguay strike made a goalscoring debut against Stoke City after coming on as a substitute and ended the 2010-11 season with four goals in 13 appearances. He was arguably one of the team’s most influential players and Liverpool finished the season in sixth place after sitting in twelfth place when Suarez arrived.

Suarez began the 2011-12 season in a similar fashion. He was instrumental in a 2-0 victory against Arsenal after coming on as a substitute. He was heavily involved in the first goal and scored the second to secure the Reds’ first victory over the Gunners in London for 11 years. With 12 goals in 35 matches this season, critics may argue he doesn’t score enough goals but if he can put his troubles behind him, he can go on to be a legend at Anfield.

What do our fans think of these great January Signings is there anyone else you think deserves a mention?

It was a quiet deadline day for Liverpool in the transfer market with no major first team comings or goings. But they have played well to record a 3-0 win against Wolves at the Molineux.

All three goals came in the second half. Carroll opened the scoring with a prod at the far post in the 52nd minute.

Inform Craig Bellamy doubled the lead soon after with a low shot from outside the box, in all fairness the keeper should have done alot better.

Dirk Kuyt sealed the win with a nice finish from a tight angle after being setup on a quick break by Charlie Adam. This was Kuyt’s 50th League goal for the club.

It was very good to see Liverpool carry on their cup form an with Chelsea drawing 1-1 with Swansea they have gained 2 points in their chase for the final champions league spot.

What do our fans think of the game? and our lack of transfer activity?

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Liverpool
31 January 2012
19.45 GMT
Molineux

History:
Total Appearances: 98
Liverpool Wins: 47
Wolves Wins: 33
Draws: 17

Last Premier League Meeting: 24 September 2011 – Liverpool 2-1 Wolves (Johnson og, Suarez)

Form:
Liverpool: Liverpool’s odd season in which they seem to be unstoppable in the cups but fragile in the league continues. In the domestics cups, the club first beat Manchester City on aggregate to advance to the League Cup final, then defeated Manchester United 2-1 to reach the FA Cup fifth round. In the league, however, the Reds are performing significantly worse, having taken just one point from their last three games and winning only one of their last six. Liverpool need to start putting it all together if they want to be return to the top four. The Reds are currently in seventh, with a win possibly taking them to fifth.
Wolves: When Wolves lost 3-2 to Aston Villa at home 10 days ago, it marked the eighth straight game they had gone without winning. They have taken four points from those eight games. After a great straight which saw them take seven points from their first three games, they have taken just 11 points from the last 19. Wolves sit in 19th, but a win could see them climb out of the relegation zone and up to 16th.

Injury News:
Liverpool: Liverpool continue to avoid the injury bug remarkably well. There are, in fact, only two major injuries, as Lucas Leiva is still out with a torn ACL, and Jay Spearing with a hamstring injury. Luis Suarez serves the last game of his eight-game suspension for racially abusing <del datetime="2012-01-30T22:51:59+00:00">scumbag</del> Patrice Evra, and is eligible to return next week when the Reds take on Spurs at Anfield.
Wolves: While they have struggled with various ailments throughout the season, Wolves appear to finally be returning to fitness. Arsenal loanee Emmanuel Frimpong will return after an eye injury, as could defender Ronald Zubar who is recovering from a knee injury. Jamie O’Hara (hernia) and Jody Craddock (hamstring) could return next week for Wolves.

Key Battle:
Matt Jarvis vs Jose Enrique: Two long-term Liverpool targets will go head-to-head in a matchup that will undoubtedly have a significant effect on the match. Jarvis is the key to the Wolves attack down the wing, and if Jose Enrique can lock him down the Wolves offense will be quiet. After that, it’s up to the Reds to score.

Bet365 Odds:
Home Win: 4/1
Draw: 11/4
Away Win: 7/10

Anfield Red Score Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Liverpool
