Latest Transfer Rumors

The Daily Mail reports that the Reds and Tottenham have joined Chelsea in the race for Malaga’s £20m-rated striker Salomon Rondon.

TalkSport claims that Liverpool and Everton are fighting over Inter Milan’s teenage striker Luc Castaignos.

While the Serie A side want to sell the 19-year-old, according to the radio station, they would also consider a season-long loan move, which has alerted new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers and his Goodison counterpart David Moyes

Meanwhile, the future of reported Liverpool target Fabio Borini has been plunged into further doubt, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper reckons the player’s co-owning clubs, Parma and Roma, appear unlikely to reach an agreement on the player’s ownership.

Brendan Rodgers, who worked with Borini during his time at Swansea, is poised to offer £8m once the player’s ownership rights situation is resolved, says the Mirror.

Which of these rumors would you hope is true? Who else would you like to see Liverpool sign once the transfer window opens?

I don’t have any information regarding Rondon, is he really that good? You could easily get 2-3 good players for £20 million. Borini, Huntelaar, De Jong and Sturridge should go before him I think. My blog: http://thisispaisley.wordpress.com/

As usual in the transfer market, everything LFC does is slow. Lots of names being thrown around but the main thing coming out of Anfield I believe is that, this time, the manager  will not be allowed to waste money. Whoever he choses to buy we should support him and I really believe we are going to have a good season under him. The Euro’s and Olympics will hamper his ability to get all the players tuned in to the style of  play he wants, so we should not jump on his back too early. However, having said that, this year we absolutely MUST get off to a good start. Yet another opening away fixture but one which we should deal with and then on to the mancs. I mentioned wasted money above and i think most who post on here have been critical of the Downing signing. I’d like to stir the pot a little by remembering back to our home Cup tie against Brighton and the way that their left winger Lua Lua tied Glenn J in knots for most of the afternoon. I was very impressed with him and for me there is no doubt that Lua Lua could play at EPL level. So, as a bargain should we perhaps think of someone like him with pace, AND THE ABILITY TO ACCURATELY CROSS THE BALL as a replacement for Downing. Having said that I doubt whether Downing will be offloaded but I’m using Lua Lua as a very good example of players from lower Divisions who can do the business and don’t cost an arm and a leg. I know it was months ago but was anyone else impressed that day by Lua Lua?.  George.
