Liverpool close to securing first signing

Reports are circulating that 6ft 8in Ivory Coast forward Lucina Traore is set to become Brendan Rodgers’ first signing as Liverpool manager. The Reds are said to be close to securing a deal for £6.4 million.

Traore notched up 18 goals in his first season with Russian Premier League side FC Kuban Krasnodar having burst onto the scene during his time at Romanian side Cluj.

It was obvious last season that Liverpool we’re desperately in need of another striker, why we didn’t sign someone in January left me speechless. Now with Dirk Kuyt already gone and reports that Cardiff are interested in Craig Bellamy I believe Liverpool should be after two additional strikers or players who can cover that position.

Does anyone have an opinion on Traore as I personally have never seen him play. Is he a player Liverpool should be signing?

There is only one short YouTube clip on him scoring a thunderous goal from outside the box. Doesn’t seem fast but strong and looks like a Peter Crouch clone. Perhaps Andy Carroll needs this competition and cover. I’ll be more excited with Gaston Ramirez signing, if it happens.

If he’s good let’s get him , but Jordan Rhodes is proven in our lower divisions is a ” Scottish ” international surely worth a look , and basically has a money back guarantee ie lower div side would have in a shot if he didn’t make it in top div , I think defo worth a punt , could end up being a real diamond

Guy’s check out his videos,he’s fast and skillful.Despite his size.Tremendous ability to hold the ball up field.

Would rather have Seydou Doumbia, although he may be out of our reach. Superb player and on a different level to Traore.

inst there a striker named andy carroll at liverpool with the same build and qualities why are we supposed to be getting another

  • Powelly25

    He has signed for Anzhi.

Hardly unknown unless you you know nothing about football – hes big hes strong, good with the ball and will link up well – but we already have Carrol for that – but this kid has bags of promise – but if we want a back up striker who will get in the box and score off the bench either Kevin Doyle or Grant Holt are proven to do that in the Prem.

Two footed, and equally powerful shot and good passing with each.Shows good vision with his passing and can hold the ball up well,as his skills when on the ground are remarkably good.good in the air,as you would expect with someone who is 6’8”.Don’t let his height hide the fact that he is also very fast and direct also, A crouch clone–he is definetly not.Has the potential to be a nightmare for any defense…..fancied to be the new Drogba, and rightly so,as during the past 4-5 seasons as he has moved up the levels his goals/games ratio has actually improved………..Definetly worth a punt by LFC, (as he is only 22 and has so much potential, all his best work is ahead of him,and hopefully in a red shirt….this is why we should be banking on potential, right?)…and worth some proper research by us fans of LFC…..That is all!
