Liverpool Injury update

Liverpool FC today confirmed full back Martin Kelly is likely to be out of action for upto 6 months after scans revealed he suffered an ACL rupture of his right knee.

The England international will now require ACL reconstruction.

However there is better news to report when it comes to Daniel Agger and Fabio Borini.

It was suspected Agger had suffered medial ligament damage after he departing on a stretcher late in the second half on Sunday, but Agger’s representative has confirmed its only bad bruising to the knee and could return for the clash against Stoke City if his recovery goes to plan.

“There is good news. He has not torn ligaments. He has a small rupture behind the knee and it has swollen and sore but once the swelling goes down he can train again.”Per Steffensen, Agger’s representative, told jp.dk

There was also good news on Fabio Borinis injury after the club confirmed there was no fracture detected on the X-ray. The Italy international will undergo an MRI scan on Tuesday, after the swelling is reduced, to assess any soft tissue damage.
