Liverpool still linked to Dempsey, while Agger wants to stay

 

According to reports Brendan Rodgers is preparing to offer Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam to Fulham in order to sign Clint Dempsey.

 

The Reds have been keen on signing the American International but have been unable to agree a deal with Fulham, who value Dempsey in the region of £10million. However Liverpool hope the inclusion of Charlie Adam as part of the package will wrap up the deal .

 

Meanwhile defender Daniel Agger claimed he would like to stay at Liverpool but admits his future remains out of his hands.

 

“No, I haven’t heard anything, Agger told Ekstra Bladet when asked about his future.

 

“That is how the club wants to do it. I would prefer to stay.

 

“I can’t imagine playing for other clubs in England. But, you never know if the club prefers to sell me.”

 

Do you think its a good move by Rodgers to offer Charlie Adam for Clint Dempsey? Can Adam adapt to the Tiki Taka style if given a chance? Or do we now have too many midfielders after the arrival of Joe Allen?

      totally disagree adams should go he is a liability looks likely to get red carded ever time he plays

        Agree, Adam has to go because he is too slow, gives the ball away too often and does not fit into the Brandan Rodgers style of play. Brandan wants box to box players. Adam can attack but is unable to come back fast when a counter attack is done by the opponents. His tackles are also atrocious and tends to give away unnecessary free kicks in dangerous areas. So solution, put Adam with any package and clear the stock. Perhaps the Fullham option would be good for both parties.

Downing is a fast winger with a great potential….Adam is midfielder, mediocre one and as we have now purchased Joe Allen we can easily get rid of Adam and bring the crafty scorer Dempsey!!!! Hence my honest opinion to somebody who doesn’t know jack shiite about football…

    What ever it is, keep agger ffs,he’s got so much heart in it. Adam can go but I wouldn’t mind him staying. I’ve never really been a fan of Dempsey anyway.

    Adam is a good player but he is too slow and heavyweight for tiki taka style..Look at players like xavi inesta pirlo,Scholes and our latest signin allen ..they all are swift and agile
