Liverpool to rest big guns ahead of Europa League Clash against Udinese

Liverpool Skipper Steven Gerrard and Striker Luis Suarez will most likely be rested for the match against Udinese, with Jordan Henderson and Fabio Borini coming in to replace them. However Joe Cole (hamstring) could be in line for his comeback after after the playmaker marked his return to action with a goal for Liverpool’s reserves on Monday.

The Reds will be without Lucas Leiva and Martin Kelly, who are out for the long term but full back Jose Enrique could make the squad for the match after Rodgers confirming the Spaniard is back in the squad training.

Who do you think should play against Udinese? Should we rest more of our stars to give our younger stars and fringe players a chance to shine?

    I glad Gerrard and suarez being rested, i’d give Assadi a start, he looked really lively last week, carra and Coates again, wisdom and Robinson, also I’d play hendo, sahin and suso too

    While it’s so clever of Rodgers to rest the big guns, it is even more intelligent of him to include some self-destructive devices in the form of Henderson, Cole and Borini. However, the master stroke must surely be to involve Downing. If he plays, Downing would actually be playing incognito for the opposition in a red shirt. Such is the pathetic quality of this so-called footballer.

    Suso must play for sure. It would be a disaster if Downer. Henderson and Cole play. Borini should play as he has the Italian factor. Suarez, SG , Sterling, should be on the bench if goals are not coming from Borini. Shelvey should start with Assaidi and Shahin.
    Looking forward to a cracker of a game.

    Rodgers is educating Henderson technically and in last 2 matches he looks lil more composed and comfortable on ball compared to how he played before. passing it to the nearest red shirt and running cluelessly..
