Liverpool’s predicted line-up v Anzhi Makhachkala

Liverpool managed to get their first home win of the Barclays Premier League season on Saturday after beating Reading 1-0 and with the weekend’s Merseyside derby against Everton looming, it is quite obvious Liverpool Boss Brendan Rodgers will stick to his rotation policy for the competition.

The Russian premiere league Leaders have lost just one game in 21 matches and they are unbeaten in Europe this season.

Jamie Carragher and Sebastian Coates are likely to continue their central defensive partnership while Jose Enrique’s return to fitness may mean full back Glen Johnson will be given a rest, with youngster Andre Wisdom set to continue at right back in the competition.

Lucas Leiva, Martin Kelly and Fabio Borini are all sidelined with long-term injuries for the Reds.

Predicted line-up v Anzhi Makhachkala

Brad Jones; Andre Wisdom, Jamie Carragher, Sebastian Coates, Jose Enrique; Jordan Henderson, Jonjo Shelvey, Nuri Sahin; Joe Cole, Samed Yesil, Oussama Assaidi.

Who would you have start in the game against Anzhi Makhachkala? Do you believe it is right to rest so many players for the Merseyside Derby??

No difference whatsoever. Even when rested, they would still return as mediocre players.

Hi Julie, I thought we did well yesterday. Some are saying that Anzhi were rubbish but I thought they came to Anfield to play. Et’o was quiet thanks to our defence and he looked like a really spoilt guy to me. Too much of a prima donna. I love Suarez but he IS going to ground too much and is picking up stupid yellow cards. I REALLY wish BR would have a serious word with thim about it!!!!!! He is always protesting about something – not what a fan should be posting but it is true. I just hope that what seemed like a big gamble by BR to play almost our best team will not backfire through tiredness at Goodison on Sunday. a win there, after three wins on the spin, is jut what we need!!!
