Poor Liverpool or good West Ham?

When looking over the fixtures left in the season, today’s game against West Ham looked like a sure 3 points based on their season so far, whereas the likes of Utd and Arsenal look a bit more tricky. We are Liverpool FC, trying to mount a champions league spot challenge. We should not be losing to teams battling relegation.

The team looked disjointed and the players seemed average, however lets give a bit of credit to West Ham. They played some good one touch football – not usually associated with teams in the relegation zone and Scott Parker in particular was brilliant.

We are playing in the toughest league in the world and today wasn’t our day. We can criticise individuals all we want, but at the end of the day West Ham played better than us and consequently won the match.

Hats off to them.

How many games will this fuckinger keep playing before our management see he is useless in defence!! We’ve already lose several games this season because of poor defending, something need to be changed, and it should start with skrtel.. today it was as if we were playin with only caragher as single centre back.. if we had a better defender like vidic today, we wouldn’t have had conceded those 3 goals, skrtel was standing just in front of the opponents, yet he did nothing!! And its not the first time, he does nothing for the team, you could count on your fingers how many times he touch the ball during todays game! Seems like we gonna get thrashed by ManUre, and give them the trophy on golden plate next week unfortunately as we can’t even beat a team battling against relegation.
Just look at wigan the team we struggle to beat last week was beaten by 4 goals yesterday by ManUre.. And to add to the misery we’ve got our best performers in kelly and meireles both injured and likely to be missing that game.

West ham were ok but Lfc were definitely poor, some of our players have not got it in them to continually have good games, were still only a europa cup team, these kinda games are always gonna happen especially away from home, we just did not turn up today, the warning signs have been there against wigan and away in sparta, some of our players can play good but special they are not, kenny has not tried to hide behind anything and make a fool of himself like roy used to, he basically said we were crap today, probably kissed good bye to 4th for this season, 11 defeats is not champs league material but that damage was done when roy was in charge, just gotta look forward to a good europa cup run and getting extra quality players in during the summer.

Of ALL defenders out there, you choose Vidic? are you crazy?!
Skrtl isn’t a bad player, he is just going through a bad patch.
He is a hardcore player, not a softy.
If there is anyone that needs criticizing, its Lucas! He is like a crab, he only moves sideways he can’t attack any defense!
Alonso is still sorely missed! his spot cannot be filled,

My main point is, dont only criticize the defense! the midfield is not as good either! Rodriguez is a waste of money, we need proper wingers.

we can kiss CL goodbye (wouldn’t last five minutes in it anyway as we are). We are not going to be relegated. If I was KD I would really bite the bullet and try those players he believes have a future at Anfield in the PL. We do at least still have a chance in the Europa Cup (although there are a few heavy hitters still left) and for the clubs sake and financial sake it would be really good to win it. But what I think Kenny needs to do is to know who he has coming through who will make the grade. Forget the likes of Poulsen, Jovanovich etc (and probably now Pachecho- he has to be on the outside after a non apppearance against Sparta). See out what has been a disastrous season, free those who we all write on here daily need to go and be ready for a fresh statrt in August. George.

I have to slightly disagree with you.

Although its true our big problem currently is our Mid field i don’t think currently Alonso is the one solely missed with a combination of Raul Meireles, SG, and Suarez i thing Alonso’s Miss can be reduced. Inmo its Mascherano we miss more. our defense is so exposed coz the is no defensive MF.

Lucas at best he can be on the bench but in the attacking MF. He is very Lacks everything a Defensive MF should have. A pourlouse midfield exposes all the weaknesses in defense for the opposition to take advantage of.
Pouslen only worsened the situation he made Lucas look superb!!

i don’t realize what benitez, hodgson and dalglish see in leiva. he makes bad judgements, risky fouls, bad passes and maxi and cole are sitting on the bench, come on..and something must be done with the defense or man utd will destroy us

I would like to think that at the moment results like that will serve us better in the long term than scrappy draws. For one it should highlight to the manager the problems he faces in making us CL material again. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying because we didn’t win yesterday all the players are crap. The League doesn’t lie and if we finish sixth it’ll tell us that we have a decent team capable of challeging for the Europa League spot. However, the problem is that the gap between finishing sixth and challenging for the top four (never mind the title) is massive.

it is puzzling why we weren’t up to it yesterday. WHU did get 3 players around the ball every time lfc had it, and that was the difference.
We are slow moving the ball and our passing was abysmal – this was the main reason for being ineffective I think.

Carra stop walking up to the mid line and hoofing it. Its not big and its not clever.
Lucas, why does he run over to one of our defenders and demand the ball and then make a mediocre pass with it? Why not move into space and yell for the ball? It would make the game faster. I don’t get it.
    Skyrtel has just lost it.
Hope raul is good for next week.

i think kenny will make changes next season, if still there i hope he is.i said when RH was appointed next season is what i am wating for nothink has changed my point of view, yes we can and need to improve and if kenny is giving the job we will. we still need a few in george winger left a ball plying midfield player alonso please… and a decent left back.europa cup
without any strikers unless carol is fit
will be hard but i live in hope for next season and for sunday v man u…

yes what a great re-signing that would be to have Alonso back at Anfield. Over the fairly recent past we have had (not forgetting SG of course) some great midfield players (McCallister, Murphy, Hamman – I still say we would have won in Istanbul in normal time if he had played the full game, and Xabi). Masch was a money grabber but Xabi was the real deal. Yes, would be great to get him back to Anfield. Perhaps Kenny will push for Young before next season starts. We need left and right sided players who can cross the ball to Carroll. Would love to be at Anfield on Sunday, the place will be heaving. But by Christ we will have to play 300% better than at Upton park.

yes skirtel is not on his game i agree but at the moment we dont have enough cover. we played poor v westham but it was bound to happen some of the players are not good enough we all know that. but as like chelsea we will be up for the game v man u, it wont be like westham which is wrong i know but we need a few more in plus
a few will be pushed through from the youth team hopefully they come good kenny will be at the races next year and it will be a diffrent liverpool, this season was gone when HODGISON got the job damage was done they should of kept rafa instead of roy or given kenny the job when rafa left. chelsea beat man u lastnight and deserved to attack them and they conceed vidic sent off again unlike u i dont rate him lacks pace torres proves it everytime plus most of chelsea,s players did.not the player he was torres has blown his confedence, unlike you i think we will beat man u if were up for it which i hope happens as arse are only 3 points back on man u with game in hand..

Why is it we’v been on a decent run, and as soon as SG comes back into the team it all falls apart?? Against west ham he was crap, bad movement bad passin. one good game in 10 just aint good enough anymore, GET RID OF HIM….

Got to agree with what you say about Gerrard, you can count the good performances on one hand this season. He aint the player everybody thinks he is!! Every midfielder scores the odd great goal and spreads the odd great pass, and he’s no different to the rest of the average midfielders we have at the club. He aint good enough to lace the boots of ALONSO, and as for the midfielders of the 70′s and 80′s there’s just no comparison!!!!
