Ramirez nears Liverpool Switch?

According to reports Liverpool are  lining up a £16million bid for Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez.

 

The 21- year olds agent earlier confirmed that the midfielder is holding talks with a Premier League club, and if recent reports are to be believed Liverpool are favourites to land the highly-rated Uruguayan international .

 

‘Gaston is ready to leave Italy – so much so I am in England for talks with a Premier League club,’ agent Pablo Betancourt told Mercato.

 

‘He is one of the most important players in Uruguay, so there are no shortage of offers.’

 

Ramirez scored eight goals for Bologna last season to help them to a ninth-placed finish.

 

Ramirez certainly is a technically gifted player and his elegant playing style will surely add the creativity, goals and flair from midfield that we were sorely lacking last season.

    I cannot see this happening. Liverpool are chasing Joe Allen for about the same amount and Livpool are not going to spend 40 million pounds on transfers for three players, including Borini. For that to happen, two or three midfielders from Downing, Adam, Joe Cole and Aqualani have to be sold. Aquaman has gone back to Italy and a loan arrangement looks inevitable. That leaves the other three and Liverpool must raise 15 million pounds from their sale to bring Ramirez in. Anyone would be extremely optimistic to buy Adam and Downing, two of Liverpool flops last season. Not sure anyone wants to stump out 8 million for Downing, 4 million for Adam and 3 million for Cole, so that Livepool could buy one player, Gaston Ramirez. That amounts to a massive lost for Liverpool and it is all Commolli ‘s making. By the way, it appears that no other clubs are in for Ramirez. It is only his agent making all the noise. If anyone else was interested, the agent would have mentioned the clubs. This is an attempt to raise his value for a better commission and only Liverpool will be gullible enough to pay the asking price for a player who was not outstanding in the Italian league.

      why do all you people think we have no money??? lol some people constantly saying ”we cant afford 16m” or  ”we cant buy until we sell” etc etc etc if we wanted a 16mill player, we could easily afford it. some of you ppl speak as if we are peasants. we have money, and a lot of it, even just through sponsorship alone…. dont know if we’ll really go after him, but if we can pay 15m for a swansea player, then we can afford 16m for a very talented and versatile Uruguayan playmaker to add some flare instead of playing a boring british game, Dalglish went British with transfers, look how well it turned out, terrible to say the least, and now we are stuck with the worst midfield in the EPL (ADAM, Henderson, Downing, Cole, Spearing)… if we want to keep up with the other teams, we need to show ambition and buy some top players, just like the others are doing. LFC in this transfer window have been pathetic, losing Sigurdsson to spurs was a disgrace, shows a total lack of ambition, and the owners dont seem to care, they want everything on the cheap… time for FSG to buck up, and keep to the promises and statements they made about adding the right players, and also them saying they can financially compete with anyone… feel really let down again this summer!!!! just my opinion, as a very concerned fan…..

    What about making a bid for £7 million rated Berbatov … eben though he’s a manc now.. he’s technically gifted and eager to prove his worth – imagine ManUre being on the receiving end of his braces and hat tricks for a change !!!! Jussayin ….
