Reds refuse to appeal Daniel Agger’s red card

Liverpool Football Club have decided not to appeal for Daniel Agger’s sending off against West Brom .

The Denmark international was given a straight red after fouling Shane Long during the Reds 3-0 opening day defeat at the Hawthorns.

Agger will now miss Liverpool’s next premier league fixture against champions Manchester City next Sunday but will be available for the tie against Arsenal the following week.

What does everyone think of the red card against West Brom? Did it deserve a red? Was a penalty the correct decision?

Not a problem, with the `legend`as back up, cringe at the thought of Tevez running
    at Carragher.

      Frightening thought.

If the ref had allowed common sense to override his insistence on the letter of the law (they only apply that when it suits them which is why people get so frustrated with all the inconcsistency!) then no way would he have been sent off. Unfortunately the letter of the law is what any appeal would come up against so it would be futile and we’d get another match ban for a frivolous appeal. So right decision, learn from this Agger and move on…. but stay at Liverpool :o )
