Reds speaking with Sigurdsson

According to the BBC, Liverpool are in talks with Gylfi Sigurdsson, who had looked set to make a permanent switch to Swansea.

 

The 22-year-old playmaker enjoyed an impressive campaign during his season-long loan with the Swans last season and looked all set to tie up a club record £6.8million switch to the Liberty Stadium.

 

However, Rodgers’ unexpected departure to take over the Anfield job from Kenny Dalglish has left the deal in limbo as personal terms had not been agreed between the player and Swansea.

 

It is rumoured the deal could be completed as early as next week. Liverpool will pay in excess of the £6.8m fee Swansea agreed last month.
