Rodgers plots January reinforcements

Liverpool Boss Brendan Rodgers admits he will need to make some moves in the January transfer window in order to bolster his ‘thin’ squad.

Liverpool are short of attacking options, with just Luis Suarez the only recognized striker available following the injury to Fabio Borini.

The Reds currently sit 14th in the Premier League standings after earning just six points from opening seven matches and the Boss today confirmed he has spoken to club’s owners about adding reinforcements in January

“There are still areas we want to reinforce – and we have to reinforce as soon as we can,” Rodgers said.

“Our best team are comparable to any team in the Premier League. But we’re a very thin squad and we are having to challenge on a lot of fronts.

“I’ve had good conversations with the owners and they understand where we are at as a team.”

It is certain Liverpool will be going for at least one striker in the upcoming transfer window. Whom should Liverpool sign this January ??

Clearly it was a ridiculous mistake to lose Carroll when we are so thin up front so we should reverse his loan in January but also buy a quality striker who can finish. It must not be someone ancient and unpopular like Owen and needs to be someone who will complement Suarez. I’m not going to create a shopping list of names, that bores me as people just go daft but we need someone proven, not another Borini who is little more than a hopeful punt (and so far more like hopeless!)
