Skrtel denies Reds exit talk
Liverpool centre back Martin Skrtel has confirmed that he is not set to leave the club.
The Slovakian international has been linked with a switch to Manchester City, but Skrtel insists he is not in talks with Roberto Mancini’s side, or any other team for that matter.
“I will be leaving for Liverpool on 6 July,” said Skrtel in an interview posted on his website.
“I am very excited about the new season and I hope we will be ready and this time it will be much better than in the last one.
“There is also speculation about my exit from Liverpool but I can say that there was no offer on the table yet and we didn’t hold talks with any clubs.”
“I heard a rumour in the press that I actually asked my club to let me go but I didn’t say anything like that,” Skrtel said.
“I still have a contract with Liverpool for the next two years. All I can say is that one trophy this season is not enough. For a club like Liverpool one trophy is simply not enough.
