Transfer Rumour : Reds Interested In Sturridge?

Setanta Sports today reported that Liverpool are on the verge of offering Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge the chance to move to Anfield.

They claim that Sturridge is desperate to play as an out-and-out striker and that a move away from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards, with Merseyside the likely destination.

On Saturday, Goal.com also reported that Liverpool had joined the race for the attacker and that the Reds were keen to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the 22-year-old’s signature. Goal added that new Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas is a fan of Sturridge after they worked together briefly at Chelsea last season.

Personally I would love to see Sturridge at Anfield as I believe he fits the mould of what we’re after. He’s still young and has bags of potential.

What does everyone else think of Sturridge? and his likely destination?

We are in dire need of quality strikers. We can’t go on with the agony of last season without scoring. We need at least 3 strikers.  Sturridge would be a good buy.

Nonsense, Brendan Rodgers wants to build a ‘passing’ team at LFC, Sturridge, like Defoe, will not pass to anyone unless he has no option which  is mostly when he has run into a blind alley and the pass, when it comes will be ill-considered or an invite to the Royal Infirmary.
